<![CDATA[Abstrak. Rendahnya tingkat pemahaman tentang pentingnya ASI selama 6 bulan pertama kelahiran bayi disebabkan kurangnya informasi dan pengetahuan yang dimiliki oleh para ibu. Adanya mitos tentang menyusui juga membuat para ibu mencari alternatif dengan memberi susu formula saat bayi lapar. Kegiatan promosi pemberian ASI eksklusif sejak dini kepada ibu hamil, terutama ibu hamil trimester ketiga, bertujuan agar ibu lebih siap memberikan ASI sedini mungkin tanpa memberikan makanan atau minuman, karena pada trimester ketiga ibu merasa realistik, mempersiapkan kelahiran dan sudah mempersiapkan menjadi orang tua. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan ibu hamil trimester III tentang ASI eksklusif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu hamil primigravida trimester III di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Doro I Kabupaten Pekalongan pada tahun 2014. Tehnik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total populasi sebanyak 40 ibu hamil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan ibu hamil trimester III tentang ASI eksklusif adalah lebih dari separuh memiliki pengetahuan cukup yaitu sebesar 65%. Hendaknya tenaga kesehatan lebih meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat, khususnya ibu hamil primigravida trimester III, yaitu dengan memberikan penyuluhan tentang ASI eksklusif dengan baik menggunakan media yang tepat seperti memperlihatkan video menyusui serta menggunakan media yang menarik, waktu penyuluhan pun harus diperhatikan sebaiknya saat kelas ibu hamil. The low level of understanding about the importance of breastfeeding during the first 6 months of a babys birth due to lack of information and knowledge possessed by the mother. The presence of myths about breastfeeding also make mothers look for an alternative to formula feeding when the baby is hungry. Promotional activities early exclusive breastfeeding to pregnant women, especially third trimester pregnant women, aims to be more ready to give breastfeeding mothers as early as possible without providing food or drink, because in the third trimester mother feels realistic, preparing for the birth and is preparing to become parents. The purpose of this study to describe the knowledge of third trimester pregnant women about exclusive breastfeeding. The method used is descriptive. The population in this study were all pregnant women in the third trimester primigravidae Puskesmas District Doro I Pekalongan in 2014. Sampling technique using a total population of 40 pregnant women. The results showed knowledge of third trimester pregnant women about exclusive breastfeeding is more than half have sufficient knowledge that is equal to 65%. Health workers should further improve the knowledge society, particularly the third trimester pregnant women primigravida, by providing information about exclusive breastfeeding properly use appropriate media such as video shows breastfeeding and the use of media interest, a time extension must also be considered when the class should pregnant women.
