Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical abilities of three 8th grade students of MTs Islamiyah on Systematic Listing and Counting using descriptive qualitative methods and observational data collection techniques. The research was conducted by testing mathematical questions that have easy, medium, and difficult levels. From the analysis conducted by the researcher, it was found that the three students were able to do all the questions correctly. However, only two of the three questions can be done independently, namely easy questions and moderate questions. Meanwhile, the rest, which is difficult questions, require direction by researchers in the process. This is due to the lack of information provided on difficult questions. This makes it difficult for students to solve problems. Researchers realize that it is necessary to emphasize aspects of conceptual understanding and the development of creative thinking in learning.
