Abstract

The measurement of quality of life using physical indicators is required to validate the use of quality of life questionnaire. Physical indicators of quality of life for hemodialysis patients include interdialytic weight gain, edema, muscle strength, upper arm circumference and blood pressure. This study used an experimental research design with pre-test post-test approach. Samples were divided into an intervention group consist of 6 people and a control group consisting of 5 people which were randomly assigned. The study concludes that all physical indicators of quality of life have improved although not all indicators reach significant values. Physical indicators which experience significant improvement are muscle strength, upper arm circumference and systolic blood pressure after hemodialysis. There are significant differences of physical indicators of quality of life of the circumference of the upper arm, ankle circumference, edema and systolic blood pressure after hemodialysis between the experimental group and the control group.

Abstract

Chronic renal failure (CRF) is a silent killer disease. CRF disease is mainly caused by diabetes mellitus and hypertension.Patients with diabetes mellitus should be able to accept the disease so that it can control blood sugar and blood pressure. Sectional analytic study design to measure self-management that includes cognitive, self-efficacy, psychological, social and environmental patients which associated with decreased renal function, blood pressure and blood sugar. The study was conducted in dr. HarjonoHospital Ponorogo with a sample of patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus outpatient. Total sample of 42 patients with diabetes mellitus were taken by purposive. Analysis using chi square test and the magnitude of the risk factors using OR. There was a significant correlation between the level of acceptance of the disease with glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and receiving negative disease risk 4 times the decline in GFR compared with positive reception disease. Patients with diabetes mellitus who can not control blood sugar normal it will be at risk of decreased GFR was 2.07 times compared with patients whose blood sugar normal and stable. Patients with diabetes mellitus GFR decreased by 3 to 5 degrees of 64.3%.The decline in GFR at level 5 hemodialysis patients require lifelong therapy. This will reduce the productivity of patients and social and economic burden to both family and government.

Abstract

Abstract The problems faced by GGK patients are complex in addition to physical problems, as well as  psychological and economic problems posed to serious threats to CKG patients. It takes a tremendous psychological adaptation of patients and families to deal with congenital problems. This study was conducted to analyze the ability of psychological adaptation of GGK patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. This research was conducted in Kabupaten Ponorogo, with the sample number of 100 respondents taken by purposive in RSUD Dr. Hardjono Ponorogo .   Crosssectional analytic design is done to measure the ability of psychological adaptation which includes self concept, interdepensi, and role function. To analyze the relationship between variables bivariate analysis was used with chi square test.  The psychological adaptability of hemodialysis patients is 74% adaptive, 69% adaptive and 87% adaptive. Age is related to the adaptation ability of patients who undergo hemodialsis on the role and self-concept. Respondents aged less than 50 years have the potential to experience self-concept adaptation failure of 0.3 times (OR = 0.27; CI = 0.104-0704) and the role of 0.4 times (OR = 0.406; CI = 0.170-0.969) of respondents Who are over 50 years old.  There is a relationship between the work with the ability of respondents to adaptation of selfconcept and role. Respondents who were not working at risk 4 times experienced adaptation failures in self-concept aspects (OR = 3,824; CI = 1,315-11,115) and roles (OR = 3,631; CI = 1,266-10,414) compared with respondents working Keywords: Psychological Adaptation, Hemodialysis

The study used a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach, that is carried out on former migrant workers who suffer from chronic kidney failure. Indepth interview used as data collection. While data validation used triangulation and confirmability. Data analysis techniques was done by reducing and interpreting the data.
