Abstract

AbstractAt the elementary school level, English is one of the mandatory local content for students. Several factors in learning English at school lead to low memory and understanding of English vocabulary at the elementary school level. One is that the media used in some schools could be more varied, so it does not attract students' interest in learning. This PKM program was carried out by the academic community of KH University. A. Wahab Hasbullah Tambakberas Jombang. This PKM program aims to increase the interest and enthusiasm of students and is accompanied by an increase in their English vocabulary. The method used in this PKM program is Community Based Research (CBR). Based on the results of observations and implementation, the training provided makes it easier for teachers to teach English to their students. This can be seen from students' responses during the learning process and the questionnaire results given to 20 grade 4 students at SDN Kedungrejo Megaluh. The result is an increase in students' memory of English vocabulary from their activity when given some questions to provoke their memory of the material being taught. The PKM activities can be a reference for teachers to create an innovation in a learning system so that students can easily understand the subjects they are studying.Keywords: Training, Learning Media, Flashcard AbstrakPada jenjang Sekolah Dasar, mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu muatan lokal wajib bagi peserta didik. Beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya daya ingat dan pemahaman kosakata bahasa Inggris di jenjang Sekolah Dasar salah satunya yaitu media yang digunakan di beberapa sekolah terlalu monoton, sehingga kurang menarik minat peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran. Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilakukan oleh sivitas akademika Universitas KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah, Tambakberas, Jombang. Program PKM ini bertujuan untuk membuat minat dan antusiasme peserta didik menjadi meningkat, serta disertai dengan adanya peningkatan perbendaharaan kosa kata bahasa Inggrisnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam program PKM ini adalah Community Based Research (CBR). Berdasarkan hasil observasi serta implementasi yang dilakukan, dapat dilihat bahwa pelatihan yang diberikan memudahkan guru-guru mengajarkan bahasa Inggris kepada peserta didiknya. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari respon peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran dan hasil angket yang diberikan kepada 20 peserta didik kelas 4 SDN Kedungrejo Megaluh. Hasilnya adalah terlihat adanya peningkatan daya ingat peserta didik terhadap kosakata bahasa Inggris dari keaktifan mereka ketika diberikan beberapa pertanyaan dengan tujuan untuk memancing daya ingat mereka dari materi yang diajarkan. Kegiatan PKM yang dilakukan dapat menjadi acuan bagi guru-guru untuk membuat suatu inovasi dalam suatu sistem pembelajaran agar peserta didik dapat dengan mudah memahami mata pelajaran yang mereka pelajari.Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Media Belajar, Flashcard

Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop a learning media based on an Android application, which is believed to enable students to learn independently and enhance their communication skills for Sharia Economic students. The researcher employed the Research and Development (R&D) methodology to create the product. To complete the development of this product, the researcher adopted steps introduced by Maribe Branch known as the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.The target population for this research comprised third-semester students majoring in Sharia Economics at Universitas KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah Jombang, with a total of 12 students. Data collection for this research involved interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that the media expert data indicated 89%, demonstrating that the application was suitable to be used as an interesting and interactive English learning tool. The data from the material expert indicated 96%, confirming that the application was suitable for use in the learning process. During the implementation process, a score of 75% was achieved, indicating that the application helped students become more active and interested in class, enabling them to speak English more fluently during their learning process. In the final evaluation, it was found that this media was proven to be suitable for improving students' speaking skills in the specific subject of English for Sharia Economics.
