Abstract

To minimize production down time that caused by equipment damage, it is necessary to have sufficient spare part availability. But sometimes this is hard to fulfill because of the price of spare parts and there are any specifications that are difficult to find. One of the equipment that has a vital role in steel manufacturing process is a gas valve actuator that has a function to regulate the flow of gas volume used in the billet reheating process. Most actuator problems are caused by the control circuit, while the mechanical and actuating devices can still work normally. Replacing the actuator unit will require a large cost, as well as a relatively long response time. From these problems, a control system is designed that can be applied to the actuator units that are already available by utilizing Arduino UNO as a processor, to reduce down time due to equipment damage. The method applied to this tool is to compare the input signal value with the actual gas valve opening position from the potentiometer. Based on the results of data collection shows this control system has an average error value of 0.7075%. The results of the tests carried out show that the Arduino UNO-based control system can operate the actuator unit effectively, to be used in the billet reheating process.

Abstract

Nusa Tenggara Timur memiliki nilai rasio elektrifikasi paling rendah di Indonesia. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikro Hidro (PLTMH) dinilai mampu mengatasi krisis energi listrik pada daerah yang sulit dicapai. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi energi mikro hidro dari sungai yang ada di Pulau Timor. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pengumpulan data informasi aliran air sungai di Pulau Timor, seleksi data berdasarkan debit air sungai, dan perhitungan potensi kapasitas daya terbangkit dari masing-masing sungai. Dari hasil penelitian didapat 5 sungai di Pulau Timor yang memiliki potensi untuk didirikan PLTMH yaitu Mota Benanain, Noe Muti, Noel Mina, Mota Hasfuik, dan Mota Ponu dengan potensi total kapasitas daya yang bisa dibangkitkan adalah sebesar 102,62 kiloWatt(kW).

Abstract

A milling process utilize DC motors and rectifier circuits. Semiconductor components in the rectifier circuit could cause harmonic distortion. At PT X, the voltage THD generated at the 6KV feeder panel has exceeded the standards set by the IEEE. This study aims to analyze the voltage THD caused by a controlled rectifier circuit and DC motors, and to design a filter to mitigate it. MATLAB software is used to analyze the THD voltage. From the simulation results, it is known that the 400KW, 450KW, and 600KW DC motors produce voltage THD values of 9.35%, 14.23%, and 12.28% respectively which exceed the set standards of 8%. A single-tuned passive filter is designed to reduce the THD voltage value on each motor. The installation of the filter effectively reduces the THD voltage value in the 400KW, 450KW, and 600KW DC motors to 4.34%, 5.38%, and 6.35% respectively.

Abstract

Kompetensi keahlian menjadi salah satu hal yang patut dimiliki oleh siswa SMK setelah lulus dan menghadapi dunia kerja. Terlebih di era modern yang sangat mengandalkan teknologi mutakhir untuk memudahkan aktivitas dan pekerjaan. Salah satu perangkat yang sangat identik dengan inovasi teknologi adalah Arduino UNO yang merupakan salah satu platform mikrokontroler. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengenalan dasar bagi para siswa dalam pemrograman mikrokontroler menggunakan bahasa C. Adapun yang menjadi materi dalam pelatihan ini meliputi pemrograman mikrokontroler dengan Arduino IDE, praktikum rangkaian listrik dasar, dan simulasi traffic light. Adapun berdasarkan hasil evaluasi pelatihan yang dilakukan didapatkan hasil sebesar 53,8% responden menilai kualitas pelatihan sangat baik, dan 46,2% responden lainnya memberi nilai baik.
