Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konsep matematika siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII-F SMP Negeri 14 Medan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar tes dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian data hasil tes pada indikator pertama sebanyak 88% dengan kategori sangat baik, pada indikator kedua sebanyak 84% dengan kategori baik. Pada indikator ketiga sebanyak 24% dengan kategori kurang. Pada Indikator keempat sebanyak 12% dengan kategori sangat kurang. Pada indikator kelima sebanyak 32% dengan kategori kurang. Pada indikator menggunakan, memanfaatkan, dan memilih prosedur atau operasi pada soal 4 sebanyak 8% dengan kategori sangat kurang, pada soal 5 sebanyak 32% dengan kategori kurang, pada soal nomor 8 sebanyak 28% dengan kategori kurang dan pada soal nomor 8 sebanyak 28% dengan kategori kurang. Pada indikator ketujuh sebanyak 16% dengan kategori sangat kurang. Berdasarkan analisis data yang telah dilakukan pada setiap indikator kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) yang dideskripsikan menjadi 3 kategori yaitu kemampuan tingkat tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Untuk kategori tinggi di dapatkan 2 orang siswa dengan persentase 8%, kategori sedang didapatkan 7 orang dengan persentase 28%. kategori rendah didapatkan 16 dengan persentase 64%. Sehingga disimpulkan kemampuan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) di SMP Negeri 14 Medan masih rendah. Kata Kunci: Pemahaman konsep, Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel, Konsep Matematika Abstract This study aims to determine students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the matter of a system of two-variable linear equations in class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Medan. This research used descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were all students of class VIII-F of SMP Negeri 14 Medan. Based on the research results, the test results for the first indicator were 88% in the very good category, in the second indicator, 84% were in the good category. In the third indicator as much as 24% with less category. In the fourth indicator as much as 12% with very less category. In the fifth indicator as much as 32% with less category. On the indicators of using, utilizing, and selecting procedures or operations in question 4 as much as 8% in the very poor category, in question 5 as much as 32% in the less category, in question number 8 as much as 28% in the less category and in question number 8 as much as 28% less category. In the seventh indicator as much as 16% with very less category. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out on each indicator of the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the matter of a system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV) which is described into 3 categories, namely high, medium and low level abilities. For the high category, 2 students were obtained with a percentage of 8%, while the medium category was obtained by 7 students with a percentage of 28%. low category got 16 with a percentage of 64%. So it was concluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts in the matter of two-variable linear equation systems (SPLDV) at SMP Negeri 14 Medan is still low Keywords: Understanding the concept, System of Linear Equations of Two Variables, Mathematical Concepts.
