Abstract

Pressure ulcers are local tissue necrosis of the skin tissue and between bone protrusions, patients with stroke have a weakness in one or all limbs that causes patients to undergo treatment with bed rest so that a high risk of pressure ulcers. Treatment and recovery of pressure ulcers with bundle care are given as nursing actions to protect skin integrity. The aims of this study to identify and analyze scientific evidence for the use of bundle care with five key elements. The research method used in the review literature in international articles published in 2015-2019, obtained the results of 5 articles that fit the inclusion criteria. A series of five key bundle care elements should be given from the beginning of the patient being treated.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction. Thirst is a common symptom of chronic heart failure (CHF) patients. Difficulties to adherence with fluid restrictions are among the effects of thirst in HF patients and therefore have an impact on worsening condition, but intervention studies aimed specifically at reducing thirst in CHF are lacking.Purpose. Purpose of this manuscript is to assess the effective intervention to reduce thirst intensity in CHF patients.Methods. Medline, Pubmed, EBSCO and hand search were searched using the key words thirst, intervention, heart failure, CHF, fluis restriction, therapy.Result.  Eighteen articles were found, six studies were inluded. Any kind of interventions in each articles, include: drink cold water 5oC, chewing gum, saliva substitute, sucking ice cubes and three bundle of interventions (oral swab, water sprays and menthol moisturizer).Conclusions. Abstract

Abstract

Background: An increasing number of people with diabetes mellitus will increase the risk of chronic complications, one of which is neuropathy. Diabetic neuropathy can cause disability and even death. Management of Diabetes Mellitus is intended to prevent the occurrence of complications by educating clients about foot care. it aims to improve the knowledge and adherence of people with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the knowledge level of foot care with adherence in performing foot care in patients with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. Research Methods. this study was quantitative research using descriptive-analytic method through a cross-sectional study approach. Data analysis used Chi-Square. This research questionnaire used Nottingham Assessment of Functional Footcare (NAFF) to measure knowledge Rnd Diabetic Foot Care Behavior (DFCB) to measure compliance. Results showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge with patient compliance in performing foot care (p = 0.001). Conclusion, Based on these results can be concluded that people with diabetes mellitus who have good knowledge will tend to increase adherence in performing foot care.

Abstract

Introduction: Psychological problems in patients with heart failure are the result of a combination of the influence of behavior and interactions with physiological responses, which if not handled properly will contribute to worsening clinical symptoms and have a higher risk of rehospitalization. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) on psychological symptoms among CHF patients. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental, pretest-posttest control study that applying a CBT to overcome depression, anxiety, and stress. Thirty eligible respondents were recruited and were randomly divided into a case group and waiting list group. Psychological symptoms of respondents were measured using Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale – 21 questionnaires (DASS-21). Chi-square was used to compare demographic data between groups and T-test analysis was used to describe changes in mean scores between and within groups. Both groups had similar characteristics and psychological symptoms level at baseline. Results: The mean score of depression, anxiety and stress showed a significant difference within the group after the intervention (p<0.05).Conclusion: A recent study found that CBT was effective to reduce psychological symptoms among CHF patients. Based on the study results it can be highlighted that it is important for nurses to provide brief CBT to hospitalized patients in an effort to reduce short term psychological symptoms.
