Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the syntactic structure in the metaphors in Layla Majnun's translation of the novel. The data was obtained from the novel Layla Majnun published by Navila through listening with simak bebas libat cakap technique. Data analysis was padan using pilah unsur tertentu method, namely by sorting certain elements using referential sorting. The results showed that the metaphorical structure in Layla Majnun's novel was dominated by phrases and clauses. Images in the structure of phrases and clauses are displayed through the categories of nouns and verbs. The form of the verb in the clause is found in the form of action verbs, events and circumstances. The variety of these forms proves that the metaphorical structure is consistent in constructing its construction to form a concrete meaning that is easily understood by the reader.

Abstract

Global pandemic forces teachers and students for studying from home. Many platforms can be used for substituting offline learning to online learning. Optimalization digital learning platform is one of ways to adjust learning activities in the pandemic. This article aims to elaborate optimalization digital platform for online learning among teachers in Abi Ummi school. The research uses qualitative and netnography approach for understanding how to optimize online learning in the pandemic. The result shows that social media can be one of digital platform for online learning. The most digital platfom used by Abi Ummi teachers are Google Classrom as learning management system, Youtube and Instagram as material contents shared, and Whatsapp and Telegram as media messengers for discussing the material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan terkait (1) pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan pada naskah drama karya Bakdi Soemanto dalam buku Kumpulan Drama Remaja dan (2) relevansinya dengan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Aliah. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan pragmatik. Data dan sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa naskah drama karya Bakdi Soemanto dalam buku Kumpulan Drama Remaja, yaitu Tanda Bahaya, Majalah Dinding, Sepasang Merpati Tua, dan Pung..? Pung..?. Teknik penelitian menggunakan teknik simak dan catat. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi teori.  Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan teknik analisis data interaktif, yaitu pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik simpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa naskah drama karya Bakdi Soemanto memiliki (1) enam jenis pelanggaran maksim prinsip kesantunan dari empat naskah drama terdapat 86 data pelanggaran maksim prinsip kesantunan, yaitu ditemukan 16 data pelanggaran maksim kebijaksanaan, 15 data pelanggaran maksim penerimaan, 21 data pelanggaran maksim kemurahan, 11 data pelanggaran maksim kerendahan hati, 14 data pelanggaran maksim kecocokan, dan 9 data pelanggaran maksim simpati, (2) relevansinya dengan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Madrasah Aliah pada KD 3.19 menganalisis isi dan kebahasaan.

Abstract

This study examines the discourse of Commercial Ads of Women's Clothing in Social Media Instagram that focuses on the act of illocution and persuasion techniques in an advertisement of women's clothing products. The discussion aims to describe the structure of the Discourse of Commercial Ads of Women's Clothing in Social Media Instagram and explains the act of speech and persuasion techniques of Commercial Ads of Women Fashion in Instagram Social Media. From the structure analysis seen the act of speech used by producer in making advertisement. The type of speech acts widely used by producers is the act of speech illocution. The actuarial speeches contained in the Commercial Ads of Fashion Lingerie in Instagram Social Media are acutive, directive, commissive, and expressive illustrations, while persuasive techniques used in Women's Commercial Literacy Commercial Ads in Instagram Media include (1) techniques persuasive through gift giving, (2) persuasive techniques through charity, (3) persuasive techniques through challenges.

Abstract

Video blogs or vlogs are stories of someone’s daily life visualized and uploaded via YouTube. It managed to increase the most video uploads on YouTube. To attract the sympathy of the audience, the use of informal language or a relaxed variety was chosen to be more communicative. The data in this study were taken from Ria SW’s vlog, one of the food vloggers with 2,700 subscribers. The use of two languages, Indonesian and English, turned out to attract and represent young people who are slang and intellectual speakers. Using two languages at once or referred to as code mixing, is a linguistic phenomenon that needs to be responded to using sociolinguistic theory to find forms of code-mixing in Ria SW’s vlog.The method used in this research was a qualitative method. Through these methods and theories, it can be seen that RiaSW’s use of Indonesian code-mixing. The type of code-mixing used by Ria SW is external code-mixing. The form of external code-mixing reflects the existence of high intellectual abilities and exudes moderate values. The form of code-mixing used is in the form of words, phrases and repetitions. The use of word types in code-mixing expressed by Ria SW is in nouns, verbs, and adjectives. The use of the noun form tended to mention the name of places and foods. The use of the verb form tended to invite, while the use of the adjective serves to explain the taste of the food. The causes of this communication strategy, the use of code-mixing in Ria SW’s vlog are to get good communication by using more popular terms and letting the viewers understand the speaker code and the foreign terms of the tourism sector.
