Abstract

Sago pulp (Metroxylon sago Rotb) is one of the solid wastes containing 82.4% carbohydrates, 1.85% protein, 1.70% crude fiber, 3.64% ash content, 10.4% moisture content physical state of sago pulp brownish color, which can be used as a source of energy for bioethanol fuel. Bioethanol (C2H5OH) is a biochemical liquid, colorless, soluble in water, has a characteristic odor of alcohol, made from the process of fermentation, hydrolysis and distillation of bioethanol. The research objective was to determine the physical and chemical properties of the hydrocarbon structure of bioethanol fuel (C2H5OH) at 65%. Experimental research methods using proximate analysis and photo Scanning Electron Microscopic EDX. The originality of the research is the development of sago waste as bioethanol fuel, the results of the properties of bioethanol fuel from sago waste with a concentration of 65%. Novelty research on laminar jet flame diffusion of 65% bioethanol, in an atmospheric Papua clean stove honai burner with a gravity fuel flow rate. Research contribution as one of the solutions to create regional energy independence in the interior of Papua, Indonesia. Keywords : Characterization, sago waste, fuel, bioethanol.
