Abstract

Environmental sanitation is an effort to control environmental factors which are links in the chain of disease transmission. The purpose of this study was to determine the density of Aedes Aegypti mosquito larvae, to describe environmental sanitation including trash cans, clean water reservoirs, and the frequency of draining bathtubs. This research method uses a descriptive analytical and cross sectional design and uses a sample of 73 respondents. This research was conducted in the working area of the Sako Palembang Health Center on April 28-May 12 2022. The results of this study concluded that based on statistical tests with the chi-square test, the p value was obtained (0.000 > 0.05) so there was a relationship between trash cans and the presence of larvae. Aedes aegypti. P value (0.014 > 0.05) means there is a relationship between clean water reservoirs and the presence of Aedes Aegypti larvae. P value (0.000 > 0.05) means there is a relationship between draining the bath and the presence of Aedes Aegypti larvae. It is recommended that the community pay more attention to cleaning water reservoirs, improve disposal systems and waste management, and pay attention to the condition of the home environment so that it is always neat and clean.

Abstract

Composting is a method of organic waste management that aims to reduce and change the composition of waste into useful products. Composting naturally takes 2-6 months so it is necessary to use a bioactivator to speed up the decomposition process. This study used a banana weevil bioactivator as a source of local microorganisms because the nutritional content in banana weevil is a food source so that microbes develop well. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the banana weevil bioactivator in the composting process of rice husk waste at the rice mill in Pelabuhan Dalam Village, Pemulutan Ogan Ilir District. This research was conducted from April to June 2023. The research design used a descriptive method, by observing the changes in the rice husk waste compost until it was ripe including several concentrations of the banana weevil bioactivator used, namely 50 ml, 60 ml, 70 ml, 80 ml, 90 ml and 100 ml. as well as temperature, humidity, and color control. The results showed that the composting time required was 31 days, the average temperature with 5 concentrations was 33.4%, the average humidity was 43% and the color of the compost at a concentration of 100 ml was blackish brown. The conclusion is that the temperature is very supportive, starting from 30-38 °C the humidity ranges from 40-60% with regular turning and watering, the color of rice husk is yellow and after the addition of banana weevil bioactivator during the composting process the color changes to blackish brown.

CIP workers, Personal Protective Equipment is one of the last efforts for the company to protect its workforce from factors and potential hazards. The purpose of the study: To determine the relationship between length of work and the use of personal protective equipment to acute respiratory infections in PT. CIP field workers. Research Methods: Quantitative type research using analytical observations with a cross-sectional study approach. Results: research using Chi-Square found that the relationship between length of work with the incidence of acute respiratory infections obtained a p value = 0.391, between the use of personal protective equipment with the incidence of , acute respiratory infections obtained a p value = 0.001. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between length of work and the incidence of acute respiratory infections, while there is a significant relationship between the use of personal protective equipment and the incidence of acute respiratory infections.
