Abstract

Pendahuluan: Masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut meningkat dari tahun 2007, 2013 dan 2018, salah satunya adalah masalah kesehatan gingiva.Peradangan gingiva (gingivitis) dapat terjadi pada setiap orang, termasuk ibu hamil.Kejadian ini merupakan respon inflamasi berlebihan dari gingiva terhadap dental plak, serta perubahan hormonal pada ibu hamil yaitu, perubahan hormon estrogen dan progesteron.Tujuan:penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran status gingiva pada ibu hamil di Posyandu Jorong Galanggang Tangah Selayo, Kecamatan Kubung, Kabupaten Solok.Metodologi: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif.Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu hamil di Posyandu Jorong Galanggang Tangah Selayo dengan populasi berjumlah 42 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara teknik sampling jenuh yaitu sebanyak 42 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemeriksaan langsung terhadap responden.Analisis data secara analisis univariat.Hasil penelitian: menunjukkan bahwa status gingiva ibu hamil di Posyandu Jorong Galanggang Tangah Selayo kriteria sehat 0%, peradangan ringan 56,9% (24 orang), peradangan sedang sebesar 38% (16 orang) dan peradangan berat sebesar 4,8% (2 orang). Kesimpulan dan saran:  status gingiva pada ibu hamil di Posyandu Jorong Galanggang Tangah Selayo tahun 2023 paling banyak terjadi peradangan ringan. Lebih memperhatikan kebersihan gigi dan mulut serta mengkonsumsi makanan bergizi seimbangdan  memeriksakan kesehatan gigi dan mulut ke tenaga kesehatan gigi  mulut 1x3 bulan.

Abstract

Poor oral and dental hygiene can cause plaque to build up on the surface of the teeth. Plaque buildup that is not cleaned will harden and disrupt the condition of the gingiva, resulting in inflammation of the gingiva. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between dental and oral hygiene and gingival conditions in students at SMP Negeri 2 Baso, Agam Regency. This research uses analytical methods. Research subjects were taken using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by examining the Plaque Index (IP) and Gingival Index (GI), with data analysis using the "Spearman correlation" statistical test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between dental and oral hygiene and gingival conditions. The results of the "Spearman correlation" statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.018<0.05. Most students had a Plaque Index with moderate criteria and mild inflammation criteria. It is recommended that students pay more attention to oral and dental hygiene, such as brushing their teeth twice a day, namely in the morning after breakfast and at night before bed, consuming fruit and vegetables, gargling with antiseptic and using dental floss or dental floss so that the condition of the gingiva is well maintained so that they can prevent inflammation of the gingiva.
