Abstract

Handover is a technique for handing over information related to the patient's condition briefly and accurately. The SBAR communication method plays an important role as a communication process to receive each nurse shift exchange because SBAR communication can explain the patient's condition in order to properly implement the SBAR technique in services, particularly in hospitals, and tooptimize the safety of patients. The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between the use of the SBAR method on the implementation of handovers at the Rumkit Inpatient Room Tk.II.R.W Mongisidi Manado. This research was conducted using an analytical descriptive research method that is Cross sectional which aims to get informal. The sample was taken of 41 respondentsusing Purposive sampling. Data collection is carried out by giving questionnaires. Furthermore, the data that has been collected was processed using the help of the SPSS version 16.0 computer program to be analyzed with the Chi-square test with asignificant value (a) < 0.05 The findings of this research was indicated that there is a relationship between the use of the SBAR communication method and the quality of handover implementationat the Rumkit inpatient room Tk.II.R.W Mongisidi Manado p =0,000 p value less than a value < 0.05 The conclusion in this research was indicated that there is a relationship between the use of the SBAR communication method and the quality of handover implementation. The researchers hope that nurses can improve the effectiveness wayto communicate with patients in the implementation of handovers.
