Abstract

AbstractThis research discusses the contextualization of the Gospel in the Mangokal Holi tradition of the Batak Toba tribe. This tradition is related to death rituals and the reverence for ancestral spirits. The purpose of this research is to answer how Gospel messengers can carefully contextualize the Gospel within the Mangokal Holi tradition. Gospel messengers can take steps to understand the Batak Toba culture well and apply continuous discipleship. These steps enable Gospel messengers to integrate Christian values into daily life and provide planned Gospel teachings. Christian values that need to be emphasized include respect for parents as a lifelong obligation and the understanding that the world of the deceased has no connection with the world of the living. With a careful approach and continuous discipleship, Gospel messengers can help the Christian congregation understand the Mangokal Holi tradition correctly and in line with biblical teachings. This helps bridge the cultural and belief gaps between the Batak Toba community and the Christian church, as well as building a better understanding. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas kontekstualisasi Injil dalam tradisi Mangokal Holi suku Batak Toba, tradisi ini berhubungan dengan ritual kematian dan penghormatan terhadap roh leluhur. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjawab bagaimana pengabar Injil dapat melakukan kontekstualisasi Injil secara hati-hati terhadap tradisi Mangokal Holi. Pengabar Injil dapat mengambillangkah, memahami kebudayaan suku Batak Toba dengan baik dan menerapkan pemuridan yang berkesinambungan. Langkah-langkah ini memungkinkan pengabar Injil untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Kristen ke dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan memberikan pengajaran Injil yang terencana. Nilai-nilai Kristen yang perlu ditekankan adalah mengenai penghormatan terhadap orang tua sebagai kewajiban seumur hidup dan pemahaman bahwa dunia orang mati tidak memiliki hubungan dengan dunia orang yang masih hidup. Dengan pendekatan yang hati-hati dan pemuridan yang berkesinambungan, pengabar Injil dapat membantu jemaat gereja Kristen memahami tradisi Mangokal Holi secara benar dan sejalan dengan ajaran Alkitab. Hal ini membantu menjembatani kesenjangan budaya dan keyakinan antara masyarakat suku Batak Toba dan gereja Kristen serta membangun pemahaman yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The era of Society 5.0 represents a period in which advanced technology and humans are increasingly integrated, creating significant transformations in social and cultural life. This article explores the role and challenges of pastoral counseling in the Society 5.0 era. This research employs a qualitative approach, combined with a literature review, to understand the role of pastoral counseling in the context of the Society 5.0 era. In the face of rapid technological advancements and social changes, pastoral counseling plays a key role in assisting congregations in comprehending and responding wisely to the dynamics of Society 5.0. The results of this study identify relevant approaches, such as education on technology and ethics, collaboration with technology experts, and a strong spiritual approach. Pastoral counseling that aligns with Christian values can be a robust source of support for congregations as they navigate meaningful lives in the increasingly complex Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

In the journey of marriage, challenges serve as tests for the commitments uttered in the sacred vow before God. Despite Christianity's rejection of divorce, the reality reveals cases of marital dissolution. This research employs a qualitative literature review approach, delving into Biblical verses to address the ethical concerns surrounding divorce in the context of Christian values. The study explores whether individuals who have experienced divorce can remain active in church service, illustrating diverse perspectives within the Christian community. The research focuses on providing solution-oriented views to facilitate recovery and support for those undergoing divorce while upholding Christian ethical norms. Marriage is not merely a formality but a sacred calling to complement one another, grounded in loyalty and affection. The integrity of marriage is sustained through adherence to Biblical teachings and the example set by Jesus Christ, perceived as a calling to make a positive impact on couples and society.

Abstract

Penelitian Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini memperkenalkan program ibadah teens di GBI Sukawarna cabang Harris sebagai solusi inovatif untuk mengatasi isu-isu penting dalam pembaruan keagamaan dan pengembangan spiritual remaja. Dalam konteks modern, kebutuhan mendesak untuk membimbing dan memotivasi generasi muda dalam memperdalam hubungan dengan nilai-nilai keagamaan ditekankan. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan program ibadah teens yang mengakomodasi remaja usia 12 hingga 16 tahun. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah liturgi ibadah yang relevan dengan generasi muda, melibatkan Morris Benedick sebagai pemimpin dan merinci perluasan waktu ibadah, pertumbuhan peserta hingga mencapai sekitar 60 orang, serta inklusivitas yang mengakomodasi anggota di atas usia 20 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertumbuhan luar biasa dalam program ini, dengan perluasan waktu ibadah hingga tiga sesi, pertumbuhan jemaat, dan bahkan partisipasi aktif dari kelompok yang lebih tua, menunjukkan kesuksesan program dalam membimbing dan menginspirasi pemuda dalam pertumbuhan rohani dan moral jemaat. Secara keseluruhan, PkM ini mewakili potensi besar dalam pembaruan keagamaan untuk generasi muda. Hasil ini menciptakan landasan kuat untuk mempertimbangkan pendekatan serupa di lembaga keagamaan lainnya, membimbing pemuda menuju kehidupan spiritual yang lebih mendalam dan bermakna di era modern.

Abstract

This community service explores the synergistic role of GBI Jemaat Asia Afrika in society, highlighting its social action initiatives. The method involves surveying target institutions, accurately assessing needs, and announcing plans during church services. Contributions are collected and distributed accordingly. This decade-long initiative targets residents of elderly homes, orphanages, and rehabilitation centers. Success indicators include meeting specific needs and receiving acknowledgment from institution managers. Post-action evaluations ensure continuous improvement. Consistent implementation of these activities demonstrates the church's ability to synergistically fulfill its mission of living, faithfulness, and service, providing meaningful support to the less fortunate and enhancing their sustainability.

Abstract

This research explores true motivation in the context of the growth and development of the modern church by detailing the role of Judas Iscariot as a case study. Through a qualitative and expositional approach, the author analyzes 1 Peter 2:1 to highlight the threats to true motivation and presents the story of Judas as a concrete illustration. The study emphasizes the urgency of maintaining the integrity of motivation in church ministry and provides insights into the risks and implications of incorrect motivation. Findings indicate that aligning motivation with Christian values is crucial to avoid potential risks and threats to church growth. This research details the concepts and implications of incorrect motivation, reminding church ministers to update strategies to address misguided motivations continually. Preserving the purity of heart and behavior is critical to ensuring true motivation in serving God and others.
