Abstract

Introduction: Changing the assessment of behavior, feelings, and reasoning into right or wrong is called moral development. There are three forms of moral classification, namely pre-conventional, conventional, and post-conventional. Objective: The research carried out aims to analyze children's moral development which is influenced by peers and the mother's working status. Method: The research approach applies cross-sectional research to a quantitative research design. The population implemented in the research was students in grades 5 and 6, while the number of samples used was 80 students, where the method used for sampling was total sampling. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire and the data analysis method uses the chi-square test. Results: Based on calculations using the chi-square method, the p-value for the working mother status variable was 0.024, while the p-value for the peer variable was 0.514. Conclusion: Children's moral development is not influenced by peers and the mother's working status.
