Abstract

This study was conducted to create and validate the instruments test of prechemistry teacher’s knowledge about health and safety work in laboratory. This instrument will be used to obtain information about prechemistry teacher’s knowledge about health and safety work in laboratory. This research has been conducted using Research and Development (R & D) design that was developed by adopting 4D development model consisting of 4 stages: define, design, develop and dissemination. However, this research only reached the develop stage. Data analysis was performed to test the validity and reliability of the tests. Data processing was performed using IBM-SPSS 20 software. The results of this study showed that the test was valid and was feasible to implement based on the CVI value of 0.847. The reliability test of prechemistry teacher’s knowledge about health and safety work in laboratory was obtained at 0.766, its mean that the reliability of the tests was classified as in high category. Thus this instrument can be used to determine the level of prechemistry teacher’s knowledge about health and safety work in laboratory. Although there are some parts of the instrument need to be revised again. Keywords : instrument, healthy and safety work, laboratory, reliability, validity

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuat dan memvalidasi instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa calon guru kimia. Instrumen ini akan digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi tentang bagaimana keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa calon guru kimia sebagai bentuk kesiapen menghadapi era industri 4.0. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan desain Research and Development (R & D) yang dikembangkan dengan mengadopsi model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari 4 tahap: define, desain, pengembangan, dan diseminasi. Namun, penelitian ini hanya mencapai tahap pengembangan. Analisis data dilakukan untuk menguji validitas dan reliabilitas tes. Pemrosesan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak IBM-SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tes itu valid dan layak untuk diterapkan berdasarkan nilai CVI 0,9. Uji reliabilitas tes kemampuan berpikir kritis calon guru kimia menunjukkan angka 0,800, yang berarti bahwa reliabilitas tes dapat diklasifikasikan ke dalam kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian instrumen ini dapat digunakan untuk menentukan tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa calon guru kimia. Meskipun terdapat beberapa bagian dari instrumen yang harus diperbaiki.

Abstract

Static achievement of Indonesian students in TIMSS, of course requires improvement efforts. One of the improvement efforts can be done by conducting further studies related to the results of Indonesia's achievements in TIMSS. The aim of this study to describe the chemistry content and the of science learning in junior high school based on K-13. This research is a descriptive study with content analysis method. Content analysis was carried out on documents related to K-13 specifically the content standards, the learning process, syllabus and science textbooks of junior high school. The results showed that there are chemistry contents in science learning of junior high school. The chemistry contents contained in science learning of junior high school is divided into 6 main subjects and 5 demands of cognitive abilities, namely C1, C2, C3, C4 and C6, while the demands of cognitive ability C5 (evaluating) are not contained in the Chemistry content in science learning of junior high school . Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the preliminery research phase data obtained as a basis for the development of learning and learning modules containing research results that will be developed later. The development model used in this study is the Plomp model which has been carried out until the initial investigation data stage. Preliminary investigation data revealed some initial findings including; analyzing the Semester Learning Plan (RPS), interviews with learning and learning lecturers in the Biology Education Study Program FKIP Riau Islamic University, student questionnaire problems in conducting learning and learning lectures, student needs questionnaire in learning and learning lectures, and analysis of learning and learning modules used in learning and learning teaching materials previously in learning and learning lectures. The results revealed in the analysis of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) there were thirteen topics in learning and learning. The results of interviews conducted with lecturers in learning and learning courses also revealed obstacles in the implementation of learning and learning lectures, one of which was the lack of student references to study learning and learning. Student problem questionnaire revealed that students do not yet have a learning and learning module with a percentage of 13.71%. Student needs questionnaire revealed that students strongly agree the need to develop learning and learning modules containing research results with a percentage of 100%. The learning and learning module that has been used in the learning process does not meet the standards of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs Directorate of Learning in 2017. The conclusion of this study is the need to develop learning and learning modules containing research results for biology students to help the lecture process in the classroom.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan data preliminery research phase yang didapatkan sebagai dasar pengembangan modul belajar dan pembelajaran bermuatan hasil riset yang akan dikembangkan nantinya. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model Plomp yang telah dilakukan sampai tahap data investigasi awal. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan pada analisis Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS) terdapat 13 topik dalam perkuliahan belajar dan pembelajaran. Angket permasalahan mahasiswa mengungkapkan mahasiswa belum memiliki modul bioteknologi dengan presentase 13,71%. Angket kebutuhan mahasiswa mengungkapkan mahasiswa sangat setuju perlu dikembangkannya modul belajar dan pembelajaran bermuatan hasil riset dengan presentase 100%. Modul belajar dan pembelajaran yang telah digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran belum memenuhi standar dari Kementrian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Direktorat Jenderal Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan Direktorat Pembelajaran tahun 2017.  Kata kunci: hasil riset, modul pembelajaran, studi pendahuluanDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v9i3.23072

Abstract

This research examined the quality of edible oil from Crude Coconut Oil (CCO) and Palm Coconut Oil (PCO) and their blends with CCO : PCO proportional was about 40:60 and 60:40, respectively. The quality of these samples was based on water proportion, free fatty acid (FFA) and peroxide value (PV) contained. This study was conducted to improve the quality of edible oil. SNI 3741-2013 was used as method of this research, which the result compared with the SNI standard for edible oil. Results of this research for water proportion in oil samples PCO, CCO, CCO (40) : PCO (60) and CCO (60):PCO  (40)  in  order  were  0.000122; 0.010905; 0.001878; 0.030996. The FFA proportions for them were 0.02; 0.01; 0.02; 0.02 and PV values were 7.10; 3.00; 6.10; 5.10, respectively. From this result, we can conclude that all samples had good quality for water proportion and FFA, except for peroxide value (PV) mark which had the higher mark compared to the SNI standard. We also concluded that CCO became the best quality of edible oil compared to others.

Abstract

This study is conducted to: (1) analyze the level of alignment between chemistry content on TIMSS with science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School and (2) describe the discrepancies between chemistry content on TIMSS with science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School in term of cognitive demands as well as subject content covered. This study was descriptive which used content analysis method. The content analysis was conducted on chemistry content of TIMSS and science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School. To determine the degree of alignment criteria, this study used the method developed by Porter. Accordingly, the level of alignment is symbolized by Porter's Alignment Index. The results showed that the degree of alignment between TIMSS and and science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School was 0.49 (low level of alignment). This imperfect alignment level is characterized by the discrepancies in term of subject content covered and cognitive demands among chemistry content on TIMSS and and science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School. This can affect certainly toward the achievement of Indonesian students in TIMSS

Abstract

This study aims to develop digital literacy instruments for schools, teachers and students whose function is to measure the extent of the digital literacy levels of schools, teachers, and students. It is not possible for a school to follow the development of science and technology if the school's potential is inadequate and its human resources are not ready. Therefore, the development of digital literacy instruments needs to be made in order to identify the level of readiness of schools, teachers and students in facing the digital era in the industrial revolution 4.0. Subjects of the study were 90 respondents consisting of 30 teachers and 60 students in SMA Negeri 14 Pekanbaru. The questionnaire that was made was first validated by 2 expert validators, after being declared valid by the expert validator, then the questionnaire was conducted a limited test to calculate the level of validity and reliability of each question item. The questionnaire uses a Likert scale with 3 categories of answer choices (often, rarely, never or there is, is being planned, no, etc.). Based on the results and conclusions, conclusions can be drawn, namely: the items that can be used as data collection tools on the school digital literacy questionnaire instrument are 23 questions, while the items that can be used as data collection tools on the teacher's digital literacy questionnaire are 52 items and instrument digital student literacy questionnaire as many as 31 questions. Based on the reliability criteria, the three digital literacy questionnaires show high and very high reliability criteria with a reliability level greater than 0.684.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and obtain eligible online learning media by using moodle for general chemistry subjects by using moodle. In this study, flash animation and simulation were integrated as online media in moodle to attract students’ motivation. The topic in this moodle was a colloidal solution. The method of this study was the research and development method by using ADDIE model. Online learning media was validated by media and chemistry material experts, then the valid media presented to the 24 chemistry education students in Universitas Islam Riau to acquire responses toward online learning media. The results showed that online learning media is eligible and can be used as online learning media in which the average number of expert assessment reached higher than 80% with valid criteria. In addition, students’ responses toward online learning media by using moodle is positive in all aspects (interesting design; color, picture, and video preference; creativity and innovation; communication) with the average number of percentage more than 84% (good criteria). Overall, based on the results of online learning media by using moodle for general chemistry subject can be used as learning media to give students experience in online learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membuat dan memvalidasi instrumen yang akan digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi keterampilan abad 21 calon guru khususnya keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan keterampilan berkolaborasi. Pengembangan instrumen  ini perlu dilakukan mengingat keterampilan abad 21 ini merupakan keterampilan yang harus dimiliki calon guru untuk menghadapi tantangan abad 21.  Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari 4 tahapan.  Akan tetapi penelitian ini hanya dilakukan sampai 3 tahapan yaitu define, design dan develop. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan valid dengan nilai CVI sebesar 0,86 untuk instrumen keterampilan berpikir kreatif, dan 0,84 untuk keterampilan berkolaborasi. Reliabilitas instrumen termasuk kategori tinggi dengan nilai reliabilitas sebesar 0,78 untuk instrumen keterampilan berpikir kreatif  dan 0,756 untuk instrumen keterampilan berkolaborasi. Jadi, instrumen yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi keterampilan berpikir kreatif dan kolaborasi calon guru
