Abstract

Satreskrim members are responsible for maintaining security, enforcing the law, providing protection and services to the community. Routine duties involve interacting with the public, handling emergency situations, and enforcing the law. A study conducted by Danzler & McCoy (2006) shows that police officers must have the right characteristics to carry out their duties, this includes cognitive abilities, emotional abilities, motivation and attitudes towards the members' work. However, complex tasks and high demands put emotional pressure on police officers, so they need to carry out cognitive appraisals to cope with routine daily tasks. This research aims to describe the cognitive appraisal of members of the Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Sa-treskrim) regarding the routine tasks they carry out. The research uses descriptive quantitative methods. The sample consisted of members of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Jember and Bondowoso Police Station in total (92 samples). Data was collected via Google form using the Cognitive Appraisals Questionnaire (CAQ) scale with 24 items with a Reliability value = 0.967. The results of the analysis show that the cognitive appraisal of Satreskrim members is generally in the high category, with an empirical mean of 96 which is greater than the hypothetical mean of 72. This means that Satreskrim has a high level of cognitive appraisal of routine tasks. This indicates that Satreskrim members have a positive cognitive assessment of the significance of routine tasks, consider routine tasks as something important, meaningful and believe that members have sufficient abilities and resources to carry out routine tasks, so that this can have implications for their motivation and performance in carry out daily tasks.

Abstract

The emergence of deviant behavior among teenagers is caused by the inability of teenagers to control their emotions. Adolescents' tendencies to behave deviantly can be controlled if adolescents have well-developed emotional intelligence. Good emotional intelligence can help teenagers manage their emotions appropriately so they can adapt to their environment. Family is one of the factors that influences emotional intelligence, because the relationship between parents and teenagers will have an impact on teenagers' emotional intelligence. The aim of this research is to determine the differences in emotional intelligence of students whose parents are divorced and who are not divorced (intact) at SMA PGRI Purwoharjo. This research is acomparative quantitative research on 38 students whose parents were divorced and 38 students whose parents were not divorced (intact) at SMA PGRI Purwoharjo, which was obtained using quota sampling techniques. This research uses an emotional intelligence scale (30 items, α = 0.866) adapted from research by Wardani (2019). The results of this study show that there is no difference in emotional intelligence between students whose parents are divorced and not divorced (intact) at SMA PGRI Purwoharjo (r = 0.759, p > 0.05).

Abstract

Self-esteem is an individual's evaluation in assessing or viewing himself regarding his abilities. One of the things that can cause self-esteem to decrease is catcalling behavior. Catcalling is the expression of sexually oriented words aimed at the victim using verbal and non-verbal expressions which often occurs in public places. This research aims to determine the effect of catcalling on self-esteem among female students in Jember Regency, and the impact experienced by victims is that they will always feel like they are blaming themselves, lack of self-confidence, low self-esteem. The subjects of this research are students from UNMUH Jember, UNEJ, POLIJE, and UIN KHAS In Jember, 348 people have experienced catcalling behavior in the last year. This research uses quantitative methods. Researchers used the Issac table formula to determine the sample size. The data analysis methods used in this research are validity test, reliability test, linearity test, and regression analysis test. The scale used in this research is the result of modifications using the Street Harassment Scale and the Self Esteem Scale. The results of this research show that the calculated F value is 0.163 > 0.0028 and the significance value is 0.686 > 0.05, which means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is no significant influence between the catcalling variable and the self-esteem variable. For an R Square value of 0.000. This means that the catcalling variable has an influence of 0% on the self-esteem variable or it could be said that the catcalling variable has no influence on the self-esteem variable. This means that there are other variables that may influence self-esteem.
