Abstract

Growth and development is a continuous process that occurs from conception and continues until adulthood. The pre-school period is a golden age where stimulation of all aspects of development plays an important role in subsequent developmental tasks, where 80% of children's cognitive development has been achieved at pre-school age. However, in reality there are still many parents who do not understand the importance of screening and stimulating growth and development in children. Screening is carried out to detect irregularities early so that it will be easier to overcome them. Currently, the KPSP Pro application is available, which can be accessed via smartphone, which can be used by parents to carry out independent developmental screening of their respective children. The problems currently faced by partners are the minimal knowledge of parents regarding screening and stimulating growth and development in children, the lack of utilization of the facilities that are already available for conducting screening, many parents who are not open to technology, and do not understand how to access and use applications. KPSP Pro is also unable to utilize information from screening results. The solutions offered to partners are: conducting seminars for teachers and parents regarding the importance of screening and stimulating growth and development in children, informing regarding the availability of the KPSP Pro application, teaching how to access/download the KPSP Pro application, conducting roleplays, carrying out development screening using KPSP Pro and provide an understanding regarding the use of screening results. The results of this activity showed an increase in mothers' knowledge about developmental screening of preschool-age children.

Abstract

Geriatrics is a branch of gerontology that studies the level of health in the elderly from various aspects, including: promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative which includes physical, mental and social health. In principle, geriatrics strives for a happy and useful old age. Throughout the world today, the number of elderly people is estimated to be more than 629 million people, and in 2025 it is projected that the number of elderly people will reach 1.2 billion. Indonesia is a country that has a fairly high number of elderly people. In 2010 the number of elderly aged 65 years and over was 11 million, and it is projected that in 2020 the number of elderly will increase by 7.2%. Even the United States Census Bureau estimates that Indonesia will experience the largest increase in elderly citizens in the world in 2025, namely 414%. The increasing number of elderly will affect the welfare of the elderly (Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Indonesia. 2012). The increase in the elderly population is of course accompanied by the risk of various degenerative diseases such as diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, osteoarthritis, neuromuscular disease and lung disease. Around 50-80% of elderly people aged more than 65 years will experience more than one chronic disease. This is related to the fact that the older you get, the more health problems you experience. One way to improve the quality of life for the elderly is to do physical exercise. Physical exercise can maintain or improve flexibility, cardiopulmonary endurance, agility, strength and balance. Several studies show that physical exercise has a consistent effect in reducing the risk of falls in healthy older adults. Kuptniratsaikul's research in 2009-2010 showed that simple balance exercises carried out by elderly people with a history of falls could reduce the incidence of falls in the elderly and significantly improve body balance. A 2017 Cuevas meta-analysis study showed that balance training programs showed the greatest effect in reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. For elderly people who are not yet able to do balance exercises independently, they need professional assistance.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries affected by the Corona Virus Disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic with a fluctuating number of confirmed incidents (new cases). This COVID-19 pandemic situation requires understanding in efforts to prevent COVID-19 infection, especially pregnant women. Pregnant women are listed as one of the vulnerable groups at risk of being infected with COVID-19 because during pregnancy physiological changes occur which result in a decrease in partial immunity. In the initial study conducted before the activity, it was found that there were still many pregnant women when doing activities outside the home not in accordance with health protocols such as not wearing masks, still talking to neighbors without maintaining distance, and occasionally still participating in crowds and the high level of anxiety of pregnant women in this COVID-19 pandemic era. The anxiety shown by the interviewed pregnant women is not in accordance or inversely proportional to the behavior of pregnant women in compliance with implementing health protocols in their daily lives. From the problems stated above, it is very necessary to provide health education through counseling with the aim of increasing understanding and changing attitudes in efforts to prevent COVID-19 in pregnant women, thereby reducing the anxiety of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. Transmission risk prevention program COVID-19 should be started from the smallest unit level, namely the RT, RW to the village level. The PKM team of STIKES Kesdam IV/Diponegoro Semarang plans to carry out community service, especially to pregnant women in RW 02 Sambiroto Village, Tembalang District, Semarang City on efforts to prevent the risk of COVID-19 transmission. This service will be carried out in partnership with Sambiroto Village. The distance between the location of the activity and STIKES Kesdam IV / Diponegoro Semarang is approximately ± 10km. The method of this community service activity is carried out in several stages, starting from counseling with posyandu cadres and pregnant women to approaching pregnant women. The proposed budget and schedule for implementing community service are very relevant or in accordance with the activities to be carried out.
