<![CDATA[Abstract. In July 2022, the public was shocked by the emergence of a case of the death of a brigadier at the residence of a general who at that time was his superior. The case managed to steal the public's attention to the point of causing pros and cons in society. This study is aimed at seeing how online media portals Tirto.id and Kompas.com frame a news story regarding the Ferdy Sambo case related to the death of Brigadier J Research methodology used is the framing analysis of the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki model which consists of four analytical structures namely, syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The objects studied were five Tirto.id news stories and five Kompas.com related to the Ferdy Sambo case over the death of Brigadier J. The results of this study are the syntactic structure in Ferdy Sambo's reporting regarding the death of Brigadier J on the online media portals 'Tirto.id' and 'Kompas.com', namely Kompas.com, which consistently tends to provide more information about the development of the case regarding the shooting incident that occurred at Ferdy's official residence. Sambo, while Tirto.id, tends to discuss more about Ferdy Sambo's personality. The script structure in Ferdy Sambo's reporting regarding the death of Brigadier J on the online media portals 'Tirto.id' and 'Kompas.com', namely that both media have complete 5W + 1H elements in each news text that researchers use. The thematic structure in Ferdy Sambo's reporting regarding the death of Brigadier J on the online media portals 'Tirto.id' and 'Kompas.com' namely Tirto.id and Kompas.com emphasizes certain themes in each news text. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the researcher has suggestions or recommendations for media in Indonesia, both online and print media, especially Tirto.id and Kompas.com, in selecting sources it is better to present more diverse sources, so that the news produced can be seen from various perspectives. Abstrak. Bulan Juli Tahun 2022, publik digemparkan dengan munculnya sebuah kasus tewasnya seorang brigadir di kediaman seorang jendral yang pada saat itu menjadi atasannya. Kasus itu berhasil mencuri perhatian publik hingga menimbulkan pro dan kontra di masyarakat. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk melihat bagaimana portal media online Tirto.id dan Kompas.com membingkai sebuah berita mengenai kasus Ferdy Sambo terkait dengan kematian Brigadir J. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis framing model Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki yang terdiri dari empat struktur analisis yaitu, sintaksis, skrip, tematik, dan retoris. Objek yang diteliti adalah lima berita Tirto.id dan lima berita Kompas.com terkait kasus Ferdy Sambo atas kematian Brigadir J. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu Struktur sintaksi dalam pemberitaan Ferdy Sambo terkait tewasnya Brigadir J pada portal media online ‘Tirto.id’ dan ‘Kompas.com’ yaitu Kompas.com secara konsisten cenderung lebih menginformasikan perkembangan kasus mengenai insiden baku tembak yang terjadi di rumah dinas Ferdy Sambo sedangkan Tirto.id, cenderung lebih banyak membahas terkait pribadi Ferdy Sambo. Struktur skrip dalam pemberitaan Ferdy Sambo terkait tewasnya Brigadir J pada portal media online ‘Tirto.id’ dan ‘Kompas.com’ yaitu kedua media sama-sama memiliki kelengkapan unsur 5W+1H pada setiap teks berita yang peneliti gunakan. Struktur tematik dalam pemberitaan Ferdy Sambo terkait tewasnya Brigadir J pada portal media online ‘Tirto.id’ dan ‘Kompas.com’ yaitu Tirto.id dan Kompas.com menekankan tema-tema tertentu pada masing-masing teks berita. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, peneliti memiliki saran atau rekomendasi untuk media yang ada di Indonesia baik media online ataupun media cetak, khususnya Tirto.id dan Kompas.com, dalam pemilihan narasumber ada baiknya menyajikan narasumber yang lebih beragam, sehingga berita yang dihasilkan bisa dilihat dari berbagai perspektif.]]>
