Abstract

Background: Constipation is a common problem encountered in the last trimester of pregnancy. As gestational age increases, the size of the fetus can cause obstruction which will prevent the release of feces. As a result, pregnant women often experience permanent hemorrhoids because they often push during defecation. The normal frequency of defecation in a day is three times a day to three times a week.Purpose: To determine the effect of yogurt consumption on the incidence of constipation in pregnant women in the third trimester (TM III).Method: Quantitative research using quasi-experimental design with a one group pre and post-test design. This research was conducted to determine the effect of yogurt consumption on the incidence of constipation in pregnant women in the third trimester (TM III). The intervention carried out was giving 142 ml of yogurt twice a day for 5 days. This research was conducted in June-July 2023, the population in this study was all TM III pregnant women with complaints of constipation at the Banjar Baru Community Health Center, totaling 50 respondents with sampling using total sampling.Results: The frequency of defecation has an average score of 1.57 with a minimum score of 1 and a maximum of 2, meaning that if the frequency of defecation is less than 3 times a week, it can be categorized as constipation. After the intervention, participants' defecation frequency increased with an average score of 3.4, while the minimum score was 3 and the maximum was 4. It is known that the p-value before and after the intervention was 0.000.Conclusion: Yogurt consumption in third trimester pregnant women has a very significant effect on the incidence of constipation in third trimester pregnant women. This is proven by the difference in the average score of defecation frequency before and after the intervention.Suggestion: For pregnant women, especially TM III, mothers are expected to increase their knowledge by looking for information about pregnancy problems and how to overcome them by regularly attending classes for pregnant women. So it can overcome discomfort during pregnancy, one of which is constipation. Keywords: Constipation; Consume Yogurt; Pregnant Women. Pendahuluan: Konstipasi adalah masalah umum yang ditemui pada kehamilan trimester akhir. Seiring bertambahnya usia kehamilan, ukuran janin dapat menyebabkan obstruksi yang akan menghambat pengeluaran feses. Akibatnya ibu hamil sering mengalami hemoroid permanen karena sering mengejan saat defekasi. Normalnya frekuensi buang air besar dalam sehari adalah tiga kali sehari hingga tiga kali seminggu.Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsumsi yoghurt terhadap kejadian konstipasi pada ibu hamil trimester (TM III).Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan quasi-experimental dengan rancangan one group pre and post test design. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsumsi yogurt terhadap kejadian konstipasi pada ibu hamil trimester (TM III). Intervensi yang dilakukan yakni pemberian yogurt 2 kali dalam sehari sebanyak 142 ml selama 5 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni-Juli 2023, populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu hamil TM III dengan keluhan konstipasi di Puskesmas Banjar Baru yang berjumlah 50 responden dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling.Hasil: Frekuensi BAB memiliki skor rata-rata 1.57 dengan skor minimal 1 dan maksimal 2, artinya jika frekuensi BAB kurang dari 3 kali dalam seminggu dapat dikategorikan konstipasi. Setelah dilakukan intervensi, frekuensi BAB partisipan meningkat dengan skor rata-rata 3.4, sedangkan skor minimum 3 dan maksimum 4. Diketahui p-value sebelum dan sesudah intervensi adalah 0.000.Simpulan: Konsumsi yogurt pada ibu hamil trimester III sangat berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kejadian konstipasi pada ibu hamil trimester III. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya perbedaan skor rata-rata frekuensi buang air besar sebelum dan sesudah intervensi.Saran: Bagi ibu hamil khususnya TM III diharapkan ibu lebih meningkatkan menambah pengetahuan dengan mencari informasi seputar masalah kehamilan dan cara mengatasinya dengan rutin mengikuti kelas ibu hamil. Sehingga dapat mengatasi ketidaknyamanan saat kehamilan salah satunya konstipasi. Kata Kunci: Wanita Hamil; Konstipasi; Konsumsi Yogurt.
