Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examinee the effect of using various types mulch and dosage intereactinally and inddividully on growth and production of pare. The research was conducted at the experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic university during 4 months, starting from March to June 2014. The completely randomized design was used by using 2 factors. The first factor was M (various tyes of mulch), consisting of M0 (without mulch), M1 (black plastic mulch), M2 (oil palm leaf mulch), and M3 (alang-alang mulch). The second factor was K (Kascing fertilizer), consisting of K0 (0 g/plot), K1 (360g/plot), K2 (720 g/plot), and K3 (1,080 g/plot). The observed parameters were flowering age, harvested age, number of fruit per plot, weight fruit per plot, and number of fruit residue per plot. The results showed that the using of various types of mulch dan kascing fertilizer dosage interactionally had no a significantly effect on all observed parameters. However, the using of various mulchs affected significantly on all observed parameters with the best treatment of using black plastic mulch. The sgnificant effct was found on using kascing ferlizer dosage for all observed parameter with the best treatment of using 1.080 g/plot.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of organic fertilizer and KCl dosage on crop yields of sweet potato. The research was conducted at the experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru from December 2013 to April 2014. The research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 x 4 factorial and three replications. The first factor was the type of organic fertilizer (P) which consisted of 4 levels i.e., without organic fertilizer, compost palm oil, chicken manure and cow manure. The second factor was the dosage of KCl (K) which consisted of 4 levels, i.e., without KCl, KCl with dosage of 7.5 g/ridges (150 kg/ha), KCL with dosage of 15 g/ridges (300 kg/ha) and KCL with dosage of 22.5 g/ridges (450 kg/ha). The data were statistically analyzed by F-test and further HSD at the 5% at the significant level. The interaction between the type of organic fertilizer and KCl dosage had no significant effect on all parameters observed. Furthermore, the type of organic fertilizer affected significantly on tuber weight per tuber and tuber production per ridge. The best treatment used chicken manure. KCl had a significant effect on the number of tubers per plant, tuber weight per tuber, tuber weight per plant, and tuber production per mound. The best treatment was 22.5 g KCl per mound (450 kg/ha).

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to examine the effect of various dosages of sludge of oil palm and NPK 16:16:16 fertiizers on growth and yield of roselle (Hibiscus safdariffa. L.). The research was carried out at the experimental farm Faculty of Agricuture Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru from May to October 2013. The competely randomized design with two factorials was used. The first factor was sludge of palm oi and the second factor was NPK 116:16:16 fertilizers. The observed parameters were plant height, flower age, harvest age, sepal number per plant, yield per plant, and number of sepal residue. Interactionally, the use of oil palm sudge of and NPK 16:16:16 fertiizers on rocella showed a significant effect on the number of flower sepal and yield per plant with the best treatment on combination of oil palm sludge with 6 kg/plot and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizers with 22.5 g/plant. Individually, the application of oil palm sludge gave a significant effect on pant height, flower age, harvesting age, sepal number per plant, yield per plant, and number of sepal residue with the best treatment on giving oil palm sludge of 6 kg/plot. The application of NPK 16:16:16 fertilizers affected significanty on plant height, flower age, harvest age, sepal number per plant, yield per plant, and number of sepal residue with the best treatment on giving NPK 16:16:16 fertilizers of 22.5 g/plant.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of ethrel and NPK fertilizer application interactionally and individually on production of Melon. The research used completely randomized design which consisted of 2 factors. The R factor (using ethrel) consisted of 4 levels and N (using NPK fertilizer) was also 4 levels with three replications and the total was 48 plots. The observated parameters were flowering age, harvested age, circle fruit, fruit weight, production per plot, and fruit taste quality. The observation data for each treatment was analyzed statistically and was done advanced different test with 5% significant level. Interactionally, the ethrel and NPK applications had only a significant effect on circle fruit with the best treatment of R2N1 (ethrel concentration of 5 cc/l and NPK of 10 g/plant). The ethrel application had only a significant effect on flowering age, harvested age, and fruit weight with the best treatment of R2 (5 cc/l). NPK application only affected significantly on flowering age and fruit weight with the best treatment of N1 (10 g/plant).
