Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of CPO (Crude Plam Oil) sludge and ash of palm oil addition on growth and chili. The research was carried out at the experimental farm Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic University from September 2012 to January 2013. The experimental with Completely Randomized Design for Factorial 4 x 4 were used. The first factor was various doses CPO sludge addition, consisting of four levels, that is 0, 100, 200, 300 cc each plant and second factor was based on various ash doses of palm oil, consisting of four levels, namely 0, 100, 200, 300 g each plant. The result of research indicates that the interactian effect of treatment was significant to height of plant and chili yield. The best treatment was addition of CPO sludge 300 cc/plant and ash of palm oil 300 g/plant with height of plant (53,58 cm) and chili yield (670 g/plant).

Abstract

The main problem faced by the smallholders of oil palm plantations is low productivity and quality of production as a result of low technology application on oil palm cultivation, starting from the use of seeds to harvesting operation. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between technology adaption in oil palm cultivation with the productivity of oil palm production in plasma land of PIR-Trans of PT. Asian Agri Ukui in Pelalawan Regency. The method used in this study was survey with purposive sampling, chi-square and Spearman’s rho correlation analysis was used to answer purposes of this study. As a result the chi-square analysis was obtained that chi-square value was greater than chi-square table and Spearman’s rho correlation. The results showed that there was a significant relationship of application technology with productivity of oil palm plantation on Plasma Land of PIR-Trans PT. Asian Agri Ukui in Pelalawan regency.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain the combination of BAP and NAA concentration which give the best effect on explant growth of Vanda orchid in-vitro. The research was conducted at the biotechnology laboratory Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru from August to December 2013. The completely randomized design with two factorials (BAP and NAA) was used. The observed parameters included percentage of shoot growing, shoot age, shoot height, shoot number and abnormal embryo somatic. Data were analysed using statistics and BNJ Test at the 5% significance level. The result showed that,interactionally,BAP and NAA applications had a significant effect on height plant with the best concentration without BAP and 1.0 ppm NAA. Individually, the application of BAP effected significantly on percentage of shoot growing, shoot growth, shoot height and shoot number with the best concentration without BAP and 0.1 BAP. Furthermore, the application of NAA influenced significantly on percentage of shoot growing, shoot age, shoot height and shoot number with the best concentration of 1.0 ppm NNA

Abstract

The aim of this research was to get a combination of BAP and IAA concentration which give the best effect on anthurium explants in tissue culture. The research was carried out at Biotechnology Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture Riau Islamic University Pekanbaru during four months, starting from august to November 2009. The method used was completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor is given BAP and the second one was given IAA. The observed parameters were explants survive percentage, bud emerge age, root emerge age, bud number, root number, and bud height. The observation data was analyzed statistically and advanced test using BNJ at a 5% significant level. The results show that the combined BAP and IAA application had interactionally an effect on root emerge age, bud number, root number, and bud height. Individually, BAP application had an effect on bud emerge age, root emerge age, bud number, root number, and bud height with without BAP had a significant effect. While, IAA application affected significantly on bud emerge age, root emerge age, bud number, root number, and bud height.
