Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was conducted to examine the effect of interaction between Kascing and Herbafarm fertilizers on cabbage growth and yield. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the application of kascing fertilizer (K) which consisted of 4 levels. The second factor was fertilization of Herbafarm (H) which consisted of 4 levels, so that this experiment had 16 treatment combinations. The parameters observed were the age of crop formation (days), crop diameter (cm), fresh weight of the crop (grams), and the number of leaves that not formed a crop (strands). The results showed that interaction of kascing fertilizer and Herbafarm was significantly affected on the crop diameter and fresh weight of cabbage crop heads. The best treatment was 1.8 kg of kascing fertilizer per plot and 75 ml of Herbafarm concentration per plant (K3H3). The main significant effect of kascing was found on the age of crop formation, crop diameter, fresh crop weight and number of leaves that not formed crop. The main significant effect of Herbafarm was found on the age of crop formation, crop diameter, fresh crop weight and number of leaves that not formed crop. The best treatment was 75 ml herbafarm per plant. Keywords: Kascing and Herbafarm fertilizers, Growth, Yield, Cabbage

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of spraying time and concentration of paclobutrazol on the growth of tamarind seeds (Albizia saman Jacq). This research has been carried out Experimentally farm of the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Islam Riau, Pekanbaru. The research was carried out from June to September 2020. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) by using two factors. The first factor was the spraying time (W), consisting of 3 levels, namely: 25, 50, and 75 days after planting (day) and the second one was the concentration of paclobutrazol (K), consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0, 75, 150, and 225 ppm to obtain 12 treatment combinations with 3 replications, with the total of 36 experimental units. Each unit consisted of 4 plants per plot and 2 were observed as the samples for a total of 144 plants. The Parameters measured were plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, number of leaves, and leaf area. The data were statistically analyzed and presented with the Honest Significant Difference Test (HSD) at the 0.05 level. The results showed that the effect of time and concentration of paclobutrazol was significant on plant height, stem diameter, number of branches, and leaf area. The best treatment was a spraying time of 50 days (W2) and 150 ppm of paclobutrazol concentration (K2). The main effect of real spraying time was on all observed parameters. The best treatment was 50 days after planting (days) (W2). The main effect of paclobutrazol concentration was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment was a concentration of 150 ppm (K2).

Abstract

This research discusses the interaction of several types of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) and organic NPK on the growth and production of honey pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) plants. The research has been carried out on the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 4 months, starting from August to November 2021. This study used a factorial, completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely, the first factor was the LOF of giant leucanea leaves, rain tree leaves, and peanut leaves, consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0, 65, 65, and 65 ml/l. The second factor is organic NPK fertilizer, which consists of 4 levels, namely 0, 10, 20, and 30 g/plant. Parameters observed were: stem diameter, flowering age, harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant, fruit length per fruit, fruit weight per fruit, and fruit sweetness level. The research data were analyzed statistically and continued with the 5% HSD test. The results showed that the treatment of LOF and organic NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the research parameters. The best treatment was given to peanut leaf LOF and organic NPK at a dose of 30 g/plant. The main effect of LOF in peanut leaves had a significant effect on the research parameters. The best treatment was the provision of peanut leaf LOF. The interaction effect of organic NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the research parameters.

Abstract

The aim was to determine the growth response of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in the main-nursery to the interaction of banana stem bokashi doses and pearl NPK fertilizer (16:16:16). This research was carried out on the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for 5 months, starting in September 2021 and ending in January 2022. The design used in this study was a factorial, completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was banana stem bokashi fertilizer (B), consisting of four, namely without bokashi, 800, 1,600, and 2,400 g/plant. The second factor was pearl NPK 16:16:16, consisting of 4 levels, namely without NPK, 11.25, 22.50, and 33.75 g/plant, 16 treatment combinations were obtained with 3 replications, so there were 48 experimental units. Parameters observed were an increase in plant height, an increase in the number of fronds, an increase in the length of the longest frond, an increase in stem circumference, root length, and root volume. The data were analyzed statistically and continued with an HSD level of 5%. The results showed that the interaction of banana stem bokashi fertilizer and pearl NPK 16:16:16 gave a real response to all parameters. The best responses were to bokashi fertilizer (2,400 g/plant) and pearl NPK (16:16:16) at 33.75 g/plant.
