Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the gender conflict of women farmers in making work decisions. The qualitative approach to phenomenology as the analytical method used in this study. The analysis of this research focuses on women's employment theory and gender. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with female farmers and landowners as well as female family farmers. The results showed that there were gender conflicts when women farmers decided to work, choose jobs, determine the hours of work and determine wages. Gender conflicts occur due to religious values, norms, habits, and reasons that are still inherent and believed by landowners.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze various key policy approaches to extending social security to migrant workers. This paper reviews thesocial security system for migrant workers. It then attempts to scrutinize policy approach for analysis. This paper explores the impact of national and international policies and also social security agreements. This pertains to potential impact of the ratification of ILO and UN conventions on migrant workers, which ensure basic social and labor protection. The paper offers insight into the issue of some key policy challenges for the future, including improved design of social security.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is focusing on the structure of government insurance for protect the Indonesian labor. To analyse this case, the qualitative and phenomenology approach are used in this research. Data was collected deeply by interviewing the Indonesian labor and the formers Indonesian labor. The result has shown that Indonesian workers were very disappointed in the scheme of government insurance and protection. This problem is not efficiently help Indonesian workers due to economic burden in the workers, as we know that the Indonesian workers are in low economic level. Moreover, the Indonesian labor are not gained many benefits from the government insurance and protectionThe result of this research is then discussed with the policy theory and protection service that should be obtained by Indonesian workers. The changes of the insurance protection scheme of Indonesian workers became an important issue for immediate implementation to improve the quality of protection system.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review the social security policy for Indonesian workers and various implementations of social protection policies in some countries. Qualitative descriptive approach as the appropriate method, because this review is used to look at the social security policy of migrant workers as a whole. This review does not focus on specific steps, but describes the foundations and orientations of policies promoted by some countries, particularly in providing protection for migrant workers. Findings on the results of this review show that implementation of social security policies for labor migrants require change as a policy evaluation context. This is as a new hope for the design of protection received by migrant workers based on implementation reviews from various countries.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and discuss the survival decisions of imitation jewelry micro business owners. Data collection is done through in-depth interviews with business owners and workers. Then the data are processed and analyzed inductively. The results found that the existence of imitation jewelry business began to change in line with changes in the business environment due to business competition. Another finding is that the business owner decides to stay on his business carried out as a social initiative, namely the owner provides social benefits for the environment and surrounding communities through the creation of jobs based on moral obligations and reinforces the value of togetherness and kinship. The orientation of the decision to survive is not only on economic benefits but on social benefits, through governance based on ethics and existing values. The results of this study can also provide recommendations for further research opportunities, for example the development of research with other issues, namely knowing the transaction costs at each social initiative undertaken by business owners.

Abstract

Studi ini menganalisis kegagalan terdidik dan risiko masa depan untuk putus sekolah di desa Pangeranan, Bangkalan-Madura. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian di Desa Pangeranan, Bangkalan-Madura. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan informan yaitu orang tua dan anak putus sekolah. Analisis data dilakukan melalui metode induktif dengan menitikberatkan pada teori atau konsep investasi sumber daya manusia dan pengambilan keputusan. Temuan penelitian ini mengidentifikasi bahwa terdapat faktor yang kuat dalam keputusan putus sekolah yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal. Temuan lainnya adalah putus sekolah berdampak pada perolehan pekerjaan dan upah yang rendah. Di masa depan resiko berkarir, karena bagi mereka yang terpenting adalah mendapatkan pekerjaan, sekecil apapun gajinya. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegagalan investasi pendidikan pada anak putus sekolah termasuk risiko pekerjaan di masa depan. Saran dari dinas pendidikan adalah untuk lebih menindaklanjuti fenomena siswa putus sekolah dengan melakukan pemantauan secara rutin di setiap sekolah serta mensosialisasikan pentingnya pendidikan dan memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat Desa Pangeranan.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the decent work protection of female domestic assistant workers. This research was conducted with a qualitative phenomenological approach, analyzed by the inductive method. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with female household assistant actors and their employers in the village of Socah, Bangkalan-Madura. The findings show that there is work hour discrimination that is hours of work not in accordance with the initial agreement, there is workload discrimination that is doing a lot of work beyond the value limit of women, and findings on work protection without insurance. In the end it can be concluded, decent work is said to be socially feasible, because it is presented in work ethics. And discrimination against this work occurs a lot in social relations in the work of this female household assistant

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pola koordinasi dalam implementasi kebijakan perlindungan bagi tenaga kerja Indonesia dan kinerja atas kebijakan tersebut. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan yakni studi kasus, TKI yang berasal dari Jawa Timur (Indonesia). Data dikumpulkan melalui interview mendalam dengan aktor-aktor yang terlibat secara langsung dalam kebijakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola koordinasi dalam implementasi kebijakan perlindungan TKI membentuk ketidakseimbangan dan tumpang tindih dalam pengambilan keputusan, sehingga berdampak pada kinerja kebijakan yang ditunjukkan. Hasil penelitian ini didiskusikan dengan beberapa teori kebijakan dan beberapa praktek kebijakan perlindungan di beberapa negara lain. Perubahan pola koordinasi dalam implementasi kebijakan perlindungan TKI di Indonesia menjadi kebutuhan penting untuk segera dilakukan dan diyakini sebagai upaya perbaikan kinerja kebijakan.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mendiskusikan tentang konsep total quality management in education sebagai upaya untuk menjawab kebutuhan ketenagakerjaan pada sistem industri modern di Indonesia. Di fokuskan pada pendekatan teoritik : bagaimana konsep total quality management in education ini didiskusikan sebagai upaya partisipasi perguruan tinggi dalam mengelola sumber daya yang dimiliki dan kontruksi konflik yang terjadi di dalamnya. Argumentasi atas kontruksi konflik yang dibangun oleh penulis tidak hanya semata-mata untuk menemukan persoalan, namun juga menemukan kembali konsep total quality management in education yang sesuai kebutuhan (the truly ways). Adanya perbedaan persepsi perguruan tinggi dan industri terhadap kebutuhan ketenagakerjaan, dimana terdapat perubahan pola pikir dan kesiapan manajemen Perguruan Tinggi. Hal ini menjadi faktor penting dalam proses total quality management.
