Abstract

The current phenomenon is that Indonesia is facing a highly concerning moral degradation issue. In the context of Islamic education, many Muslim intellectuals offer their perspectives on addressing moral degradation issues. One of the scholars who plays a significant role in Islamic moral education is Imam Al-Ghazali. By implementing the study of faith and morals in MIN 1 Yogyakarta, this research aims to explore the concept of moral learning according to Imam Al-Ghazali and its relevance to the teaching of Faith and Morals in MIN 1 Yogyakarta. The author uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive discussion approach. The study was conducted at MIN 1 Yogyakarta in the fourth-grade class, with the research subjects focusing on Faith and Morals teachers. The results indicate that MIN 1 Yogyakarta serves as one of the implementation programs of the Merdeka Curriculum in the Sleman Regency, DIY. The research findings show that Al-Ghazali proposes a moral learning concept, including moral education sourced from the Qur'an and Hadith as an effort to attain the pleasure of Allah SWT, namely maintaining dealings with others and self-development. The stages in the formation of morals include Takhalli, Tahalli, and Tajalli. The methods offered by Al-Ghazali are exemplification, experimentation, exercise, and striving. In its application at MIN 1 Yogyakarta, the concept of Faith and Morals teaching according to Imam Al-Ghazali has similarities, such as the methods offered by Imam Al-Ghazali, particularly the methods of exemplification and exercise, which are widely used in teaching faith and morals.
