Abstract

This research aims to demonstrate the influence of the effectiveness of image preprocessing-based artificial intelligence technology in detecting the ripeness level of tomatoes on user satisfaction and to discover correlations between them. The applied research method is quantitative, with data collected through the distribution of questionnaires to attendees of the IT Festival 2023 Expo held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Baranangsiang Campus, IPB. The data analysis methods used include Pearson correlation test, simple linear regression, coefficient of determination test, and T-test using SPSS 25.0 software. The test results indicate that the effectiveness of image preprocessing-based artificial intelligence technology has a positive and significant impact on detecting the ripeness level of tomatoes

Abstract

This research brings the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) in creating the Apilastic Robot, a device that aims to reduce customer losses by identifying the causes of rejected items, particularly in frequently returned cups. Through qualitative data collection from a case study with the researcher as the human instrument, the research objective was to develop a device that can recognize the type of damage on the glass, provide support to the user to identify the source of the problem, and take appropriate steps. The results of the analysis showed that product effectiveness had the greatest influence on tool usage satisfaction, explaining 77.2% of the variability in tool effectiveness. It is expected that these findings provide support to users in troubleshooting frequently returned glassware with root cause identification and appropriate steps.

Abstract

Rapid advances in technology, particularly in the Internet of Things (IoT), are enabling the development of devices and robots that can be operated remotely. This research explores the effects of APILASTIK Quality Check Robot Appearance and Features on User Satisfaction Level. This tool, developed by Computer Engineering Technology students at IPB University's Vocational School, aims to detect defects in production products. The robot attracted great attention when it was presented at IT FEST 2023, showing the potential for wide use. Evaluations of the robot's appearance and features showed a positive and significant influence on the level of user satisfaction, with each variable contributing 66.4% and 25.4%, respectively. Hypothesis testing confirmed the overall positive and significant impact, with the coefficient of determination (R2) reaching 82.7%. The results of multiple linear regression analysis and t-test show that the robot's appearance and features individually contribute significantly to user satisfaction. With these findings, we can understand the factors that influence user satisfaction with damage-scanning robots. The recommendation is to focus on feature development or appearance enhancement to improve overall user satisfaction.

Abstract

Technological developments continue to increase not only in the industrial sector, but have also spread to the agricultural sector, including the tomato farming process. Currently, the stage of harvesting tomatoes no longer relies on manual work, but instead utilizes artificial intelligence technology based on images preprocessing. This research aims to see whether the independent variable (AI effectiveness) has an influence on the dependent variable (tomato ripeness level). The method used is qualitative with simple linear regression data analysis techniques which include the t test and f test. The sample used was a random sampling technique with data collection by distributing questionnaires to a total of 48 respondents. The research results show that the effectiveness of AI has a positive effect on the level of ripeness of tomato fruit. This can be proven from a simple linear regression analysis to obtain the equation Y = 3.498 + 0.787X. The findings from the ttest show that tcount (7.644) > ttable (2.012) with a significance of 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, the conclusion drawn is to accept the alternative hypothesis (H1) while rejecting the null hypothesis (H0).
