Abstract

The millennial generation started to partake in Indonesia's Economy, and they are playing an important role, especially after the recent development of Indonesia’s economy. On the contrary, it is still commonly found that Indonesia's business sector is still questioning about millennial generation's organizational commitment and loyalty, simply based on how “different” the millennial generation is compared to its predecessor. This point of view is mainly credited to a lack of understanding of Indonesia’s millennial generation and this phenomenon simply happened because this issue is not gained enough interest among academicians and experts in Indonesia. This paper aims to provide a thorough review of this topic by encompassing several studies on millennials, focused on commitment and loyalty, mainly from recent studies. With this review, it has become important to give the millennial generation organizational commitment and loyalty study, scholarly attention. In all ways, the millennial generation is different and could play an important role in Indonesia’s economy. Not only as a market but as a human capital and this study urges researchers to find millennial uniqueness, integrating them into organizations and managing their organizational commitment and loyalty, after all, with the recent economic shift it is about time this generation will become an integral part of Indonesia’s economic development.

Abstract

The millennial generation is the key to Indonesia's future success, but there are still profound misunderstandings, especially regarding the millennial generation's organizational commitment and loyalty. Rather than focusing on these misunderstandings, this article invites researchers especially on Indonesia's generational cohort to look up another factor to strengthen the millennial generation's organizational commitment and loyalty, and one of those factors is religiosity. This article provided a grounded theory approach by providing an in-depth analysis of several topics especially organizational commitment and religiosity among the Indonesia millennial generation. This in-depth analysis resulted in three conceptual proposals, that proposed how religiosity as a variable could be utilized, in organizational commitment and loyalty study among the millennial generation. These proposals could help future researchers create a basis for theoretical development or conduct ab empirical research on this subject.

Abstract

Human resources studies are closely related with behavioral study and gained several scholarly attention Indonesia. But there is an important aspect, regarding how scholars use variables in their respective studies, the dimension of a variable is often forgotten. This article will try to shed light on this topic. by doing a thorough review of the case of the employee satisfaction variable. We will explore how the employee satisfaction variable is viewed, and how by looking at the dimension of this variable an entirely new perspective could be found on how this variable interacts with other variables, namely organizational commitment. We will look thoroughly at several studies, especially those that focused on the establishment of the dimension from this variable, and discuss the study's results., Then try to explain, how future research can utilize dimensions to gain a better understanding of human resources and behavioral studies.
