Abstract

Introduction to The Problem: Prior to the formation of BPJPH, LPPOM-MUI had a central role in supervising and providing halal certification. However, as time goes by, demands for halal certification regulations are increasingly complex and dynamic. Therefore, the government established BPJPH as the new authority responsible for the regulation of halal certification.Purpose/Objective Study: This study aims to investigate and analyze the development of halal regulations in Indonesia from the establishment of LPPOM-MUI to the formation of BPJPH. The focus of this research is to understand policy changes, the transition process, and the impact of this transition on halal certification in Indonesia.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study uses descriptive analysis methods and historical approaches to trace the development of halal regulations in Indonesia. The data was obtained through a review of official documents, policies, regulations, and related literature.Findings: The results of this study reveal a significant evolution in halal regulations in Indonesia. Initially, the LPPOM-MUI was responsible for halal certification, but later, the Indonesian government established BPJPH as an autonomous body tasked with managing the halal product assurance system. This transition has an impact on various aspects, including the process of certification, accreditation, and supervision.

Abstract

Restrictions on community activities have weakened the Indonesian economy. The government must find a solution to improve economic conditions. This study aims to develop a model that enhances Islamic social financial institutions and maximizes cash waqf potential in Indonesia for sustainable finance. The model will boost the national Islamic capital market and be analyzed with SWOT and Delphi methods. Data was collected via questionnaires from 19 academics and practitioners in the waqf and infrastructure sectors. Delphi test results showed all respondents believed there was a link between SWOT indicators and the feasibility of the model. This model contributes to economic recovery, Islamic capital market growth, sustainable social funding, optimized waqf potential, strengthened waqf financial institutions, and improved infrastructure management in Indonesia.

Abstract

One of the promising Islamic financial products in the modern era is insurance. Despite a potential market of 75.45 million people, Islamic insurance remains underutilized. Meanwhile, the real estate sector has proven resilient even during a pandemic and offers long-term profit potential. The CILD (Cash Insurance Linked DIRE) model aims to address these issues by integrating insurance optimization with the Real Estate Investment Fund (DIRE). This paper's goal is to design a model that enhances Islamic financial instruments, taps into Indonesia's insurance potential, and contributes to sustainable finance while aiding national economic recovery through real estate investments. The model's feasibility is assessed using a SWOT analysis and the Delphi method with inputs from 7 expert respondents. The analysis indicates that the model is viable. Respondents agree that it can positively impact national economic recovery, strengthen Islamic financial products, and support Indonesia's real estate sector. The novelty of this paper lies in the innovative insurance management system, which can guide policymakers and Islamic insurance institutions in creating superior investment insurance concepts. This research aims to demonstrate the integration of insurance with DIREs through the CILD model, offering diverse insurance alternatives to the public.
