Abstract

For an institution, including an institution that carries out outreach, a strategy is needed in the communication process because to achieve goals, systematic and directed steps are needed so that goals can be achieved. This study aims to find out how the Padang City BPBD communication strategy is in Socializing Flood Disaster Management in Padang City. This research uses a type of descriptive qualitative research. This research was conducted at the Padang City Regional Disaster Management Agency office. In this study, researchers had key informants and supporting informants. This study used 4 data collection techniques, namely interview techniques, observation, documentation, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the Padang City BPBD communication strategy in disseminating disaster management uses several communication strategies. Among the communication strategies used are Collaborative, Informative, Interpersonal, and Inclusive Communication Strategies.

Abstract

In the context of broadcast media in Indonesia, especially television broadcasters such as Padang TV, there are complex challenges and opportunities. However, data shows that television media still plays an important role in people's lives, with high viewing rates. However, the shift in consumption patterns towards internet-based services is a challenge that television stations must face. The phenomenon of viewers moving to cable TV and internet services has resulted in a decline in interest in local broadcasts. This research discusses how Padang TV's efforts to increase viewers through the Sumbar Rancak Bana program. The research method used is a qualitative approach, collecting and analyzing data in the form of words and human actions. This research is descriptive, providing a description and analysis of the research results without making broad conclusions. The analysis and theories used reveal that Padang TV's efforts to increase viewers on the Sumbar Rancak Bana program are in accordance with the theory of media convergence by Henry Jenkins. Convergence of Technology, Business and Content is used by Padang TV, where this theory recognizes the two-way interaction of viewers and media and the role of viewers in shaping experiences. Padang TV implements the Marketing Mix in the Rancak Bana program, with diverse content and supporting facilities that sustain the program. The diversity of Padang TV's viewers in demographics, geography and interests is reflected in the different classifications, showing suitability to the program presented.

Abstract

YouTube is a form of social media that is included in the New Media category. Healthy lifestyle behavior popularized by Ade Rai through content on YouTube is able to change the audience's perception of a healthy lifestyle. An initial survey conducted by researchers at Gym D'max Padang City found that respondents took a healthy lifestyle lightly, and thought that they only needed to consume healthy food without having to get enough rest. However, after watching the content created by Ade Rai, it provides important education regarding implementing a healthy lifestyle. Ade Rai always provides information from sources such as books, scientific journals and other trusted sources. Therefore, respondents to every content he uploads can have information that is educational and based on facts, so that the information he shares is useful. This research uses a quantitative type of research. The sampling technique is a simple random sampling technique with 55 permanent members of the Padang City D'Max Gym. Simple linear regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis with the SPSS 24 program. The results indicated that there was an influence of Bodybuilder Ade Rai's YouTube content on awareness of healthy living at the D'Max Gym, Padang City.

Abstract

In filmmaking, shooting techniques have a very important role in providing the meaning that you want to convey to the audience. Therefore, when making a film, it is necessary to take into account the size of the images when taking them so that the visuals displayed can please the audience's eyes and provide a message that is easy to understand. The cameraman is tasked with compiling, editing and reviewing images and is responsible for the production process from start to finish, then handed over to the editor. The cameraman himself carries out tasks starting from preparing the camera settings, checking the audio and adjusting the shooting angle because all the images and audio taken must be complete so as not to make it difficult for the editor to edit. The film Sabda Miss is a slice of life genre film where in this film, the cameraman tries to emphasize and emote the actors with the aim of bringing the audience to feel the emotions conveyed by the actors. In the production of the film Sabda Miss, the cameraman helps the director in visualizing the film script that has been provided by the script writer. There are several shooting techniques, one of which is close up. A close up shot itself is a shot from the top of the head to the neck, in one scene of the film Sabda Miss there are several techniques for taking close up shots. The cameraman tries to give an emotional impression of the actor so that the audience can be carried away by the actor's emotions. Therefore, the shooting techniques used in the film Sabda Missing are able to provide an attractive and professional film quality.

Abstract

This research focuses on the lack of application of the journalistic code of ethics at Kompas TV Riau, especially on the YouTube platform. The goal is to analyze the implementation of the code of ethics in the practice of journalists. The benefits include theoretical, practical, and academic contributions in understanding journalistic ethics at Kompas TV Riau as well as a reference for future research.The research used descriptive qualitative methods with the location at Kompas TV Riau Office. Informants were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and literature study. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman techniques. Data validity was verified through source triangulation to ensure its validity and reliability.Based on interviews with Kompas TV Riau informants, the station applies the motto "Independent and Trustworthy" consistently in journalistic tasks. This commitment is reflected in all aspects of the work, from the selection of sources to the editing process. The importance of complying with the journalistic code of ethics emphasizes awareness of social responsibility and moral principles in presenting accurate and objective information.This research successfully evaluated Journalistic Ethics towards Visual Communication Videography at Kompas TV Pekanbaru. Interviews with the editor-in-chief, coordinators, reporters, and editors showed a commitment to independence and accuracy of information. Kompas TV Riau complies with the journalistic code of ethics, maintains integrity, and builds public trust in the information conveyed through visual videography communication.

Abstract

This final assignment of scientific paper writing is conducted to understand the communication efforts that can be observed in a professional interaction. In this case, the author focuses observations with the title "Observation of Technical Communication in Photography Business Opportunities at Prince studio photography Padang". It is a final study of scientific work aimed at exploring and analyzing the communication interactions that occur within the photography business environment, specifically at Prince studio photography Padang. In this context, the AIDDA theory (Attention, Interest, Desire, Decision, Action) is used as a framework to understand the communication process that occurs between the photography studio and its potential customers. This scientific paper uses a structured participant observation method to collect data. The results of the scientific paper show that in efforts to build relationships with customers, the photography studio uses the AIDDA theory as a communication technique, starting from attracting attention, generating interest, creating desire, encouraging decision-making, to prompting purchase actions. Additionally, it was also found that aspects such as visual impression, personal interaction, and marketing strategies play a significant role in influencing the effectiveness of communication in the context of photography business.

Abstract

Radio is a mass media that is closely related to the needs of society that can provide various kinds of information, entertainment, and education. The presence of the internet has shifted people's behavior patterns that are more following the development of internet technology, including RRI Padang. RRI Padang strives to improve the quality of broadcast programs in order to attract young listeners, especially on social media. The background of this study aims to find out how RRI Padang's efforts are made in increasing young listeners through the use of social media. This research using qualitative-inductive research is a research method that starts with collecting concrete data and then developing patterns, themes, or general theories from the data. This method of radio with a focus on attracting the younger generation can involve several approaches oriented towards a deep understanding of the preferences, needs, and expectations of young listeners. This research is with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, documentation, and document studies. The result of this study is the success of RRI Padang's efforts in increasing young listeners through the use of social media

Abstract

This research explores how CV. Veraldi Padang utilizes Instagram to strengthen the brand awareness of the @Wedding.Veraldi_Real account and overcome limitations in showcasing the uniqueness of MC services. The focus is on analyzing the social media marketing strategy used by the company. The aim is to understand the impact and effectiveness of marketing strategies in building brand image and overcoming challenges faced in the context of the Instagram platform. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study to deeply understand CV. Veraldi's marketing strategy through Instagram. The research location was at CV Veraldi Padang. Key and supporting informants were selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through library research, interviews, and observation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was checked through source triangulation. This research explores CV. Veraldi's strategies and challenges in building Brand Awareness through Instagram. They focus on quality and creative content, and are responsive to the audience. Despite facing negative comments and account hacks, they remain committed to maintaining their reputation and building a loyal community of followers. With a proactive approach, CV. Veraldi managed to strengthen their brand image on the Instagram platform. The interview results show that CV. Veraldi managed to build Brand Awareness on Instagram with creative content and sharing business information. They apply social media marketing theory in building Brand Awareness. CV. Veraldi overcame obstacles with careful management of their Instagram account and a silent approach to negative comments, ensuring their uniqueness remained visible. This allowed them to face the challenges effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of traditional leaders' communication in Nagari Padang Laweh Malalo in resolving customary land disputes in Tanah Datar Regency. Customary land disputes often lead to prolonged and complex conflicts within indigenous communities. To address this issue, the study employs a qualitative approach, gathering data through semi-structured interviews with traditional leaders and direct field observations. The findings indicate that traditional leaders play a vital role in mediating and resolving disputes, which serves as a benchmark in customary land conflict resolution. They prioritize consensus-building and active community participation in the conflict resolution process. Respect for traditional customs has proven effective in achieving fair and sustainable solutions. Additionally, collaboration among traditional leaders, government authorities, and legal institutions strengthens efforts to resolve disputes, thereby fostering harmony and stability within the community. In conclusion, this study confirms that effective communication and mediation strategies rooted in customary values are key to addressing customary land disputes in Nagari Padang Laweh Malalo. These findings provide valuable insights for managing land conflicts in other indigenous communities and reinforce the role of traditional leaders in promoting peace and justice within society

Abstract

This thesis is entitled "Analysis of the Production Process of Padang Pagi Ini News Broadcast Program at Pro 1 Radio Republik Indonesia Padang". The purpose of this research is to find out the production process of the news broadcast program "Padang Pagi Ini" at Pro 1 RRI Padang and to find out the factors that influence the production process of the news broadcast "Padang Pagi Ini" at Pro 1 RRI Padang. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. As a qualitative descriptive researcher, the researcher will only describe the situation or event, not looking for relationships, not testing hypotheses or making predictions. the results showed that the stages of the production process of "Padang Pagi Ini" are the same as the production process of radio programs in general, including: pre-production stages, production stages, post-production stages and factors affecting news production at RRI Padang are human resources, technology, content management, broadcasting regulations, and audience feedback. The production team consists of journalists, reporters, producers, editors, and technicians who have competencies and experience that affect the quality of the news presented. Technology such as digital cameras, video editing software and digital transmission systems facilitate the news production process.
