Abstract

Tanjung Gedong is one of the most developed urban kampung located in West Jakarta, existed formerly to support the nearby campuses and commercials activities. This kampung grows in the midst of educational area, its existence has proofed resiliency and great city’s supports, thus suitable as a stable sample for questioning kampung’s geometrical qualities. Less researches were interested to investigate kampung’s architectural concept. Kampung is often labeled as irregular, disorder or non-standard rather than respecting its potency. Dissecting kampung networks may present new facts regarding type’s domination and recession especially at the kampung gate as a prime transitional location. The research aims to target geometry as an architectural concept, a fundamental formula for kampung configuration. Typo-morphology is combined with etymology for revealing its geometrical concept with a focus only on the layout. QGIS is utilized as an instrument to extract building silhouette, simplified in the form of diagrams, while categorized by using tabulation. The outcome reveals a specific geometrical character based on arithmetic sequence: a particular order. Keywords: Architecture; Concept; Genomic; Geometry; Kampung Abstrak Tanjung Gedong adalah kampung kota di kawasan pendidikan Jakarta Barat dan telah berkembang bersama dengan kampus dan bangunan komersial di sekitarnya. Kampung ini tumbuh bersama-sama dengan kawasan, dan berkembang untuk mendukung fungsi pendidikan. Fenomena kehadirannya menunjukkan potensi resiliensi keruangan sehingga cocok menjadi sampel percontohan dan penelitian terkait perkembangan suatu jaringan kota. Lepas dari prasangka yang kerap melabeli kampung sebagai yang tidak teratur, kumuh dan tidak sehat; kampung Tanjung Gedong kerap menjadi pilihan utama warga kampus dan menjadi sentra informal untuk kawasan sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengangkat konsep geometri kampung yang menjadi formula pembentukan jaringan. Membedah geometri jaringan memunculkan potensi dan masalah dominasi dan resesi yang terjadi dalam rangkaian ruang kampung. Gerbang kampung adalah jaringan utama yang mengandung gen transisi arsitektur formal dan informal yang tepat diinvestigasi sebagai proyek pilot. Metode kualitatif interpretatif mengkombinasi tipo-morfologi dan etimologi untuk mengangkat abstraksi geometri pada peta jaringan menggunakan QGIS. Fokus penggambaran adalah denah yang dikonversi menjadi diagram untuk memunculkan siluet dialektika ruang berdasarkan citra satelit. Tabulasi mengkategorisasi dan menyeleksi tipe dan bentuk berdasarkan genomik arsitektur. Hasilnya mayoritas geometri kampung menunjukkan keberaturan dan simetri, berkebalikan dengan persepsi ketidakberaturan yang kerap menjadi stigma. Pengulangan bilangan prima dan genap banyak ditemukan pada dimensi, sudut maupun unit yang mendukung formalitas formula. Kebaruan penelitian merekomendasi deret spesifik kampung Tanjung Gedong.

Abstract

Well known as one of the most crowded and problematic urban kampungs in ASEAN since 2020, Tambora has been struggle with health, fire, and social problems. Its density is related to the composition between solid and void especially on the boundary as they control the accessibility while influencing the overall gesture of the kampung. Unfortunately, the majority of research related to boundaries is more interested in delineation rather than 3D relationships. Further investigation is required to understand its series of volumetric composition, configuration, and orientation to comprehend its architecture as a continuation of its geometrical investigation. As boundaries are relatively considered more stable locations, they exhibit intensity, complexity, and hybridity between formal and informal. A diverse collection of houses at these particular locations displays specific language while providing correlation. Genomic tabulation is utilized to interpret the kampung massing series' spatial quality. The QGIS instrument converts lines into volumes, with steps are follows: 1) collection of data, 2) conversion of 2D into 3D, and 3) interpretation of the samples. By focusing on the massing series at the kampung boundaries, the typology and morphology are emerged, providing various gaps and potentials as alternative solutions for building the kampung network.
