Abstract

The Industry of textiles and textile products (TTP) is one of the bases of economic activity in Central Java. Problems that occur in the textile industry in Central Java is a change in the input industries such as energy and labor costs, and restructuring the engine that should provide the possibility of inefficiency of the textile industry. The purpose of research is to measure the level of economic efficiency in the sector and the overall textile industry in Central Java. In this study it was found that the overall and sectoral in textile industry is not currently on the achievement of optimum technical and economic efficiency. The achievement of allocative efficiency in the industry has reached its optimum level. Throughout the years 2005-2011 there were 3 (three) sub-sectors with the highest frequency that is below the average performance of the textile industry efficiency are 17121, 17122, and 17124. Based on this study suggested that the industry adjust input costs and increased output partially and simultaneously. There need for synergy between government and industry to improve performance efficiency
