Abstract

The research discussed about a problem of student’s ability to analyze short story intrinsic elements through the scientific approach at twelfth social two grade students of SMAN 1 Kalianda Lampung Selatan in academic year 2018/2019. The aim of this research is to increase the student’s ability in analyzing intrinsic elements of short story.  The research method used Action Class Method.  There the procedure in this study; they are planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The result showed that there was an improvement in planning, the learning implementation of ability analyzing intrinsic elements and an increase in analyzing ability short story intrinsic elements through the scientific approach at the average of ability in analyzing short story intrinsic elements at the twelfth social two grade students was 65.79%, cycle I (70.35%, cycle II (74,7%), cycle III (86,17%).Penelitian ini membahas masalah kemampuan menganalisis unsur intrinsik cerpen melalui pendekatan saintifik pada peserta didik Kelas XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Kalianda Lampung Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam menganalisis unsur intrinsik cerpen melalui pendekatan saintifik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tindakan kelas. Prosedur penelitian siklus terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi,  dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbaikan pada perencanaan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran kemampuan menganalisis unsur intrinsik, serta peningkatan kemampuan menganalisis unsur intrinsik cerpen melalui pendekatan saintifik. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan menganalisis unsur intrinsik cerita pendek peserta didik kelas XI IPS 2 pada pratindakan adalah 65,79%, siklus I 70,35%, siklus II 74,7%, siklus II 86,17%.Kata Kunci:  pendekatan saintifik, unsur intrinsik cerpen
