Abstract

Employees? performance are influenced by many factors, there are competence and work discipline. This article discusses the result of research on the impacts of competence and work discipline on employees? performance in one of Department at Kabupaten Garut. This study used explanatory survey method with questionnaire as the data collection technique. The population of this study consists of 42 respondents who are the secretariat employees?. The result of this study shows that the competence and work discipline has positive effects on employees? performance, both partially and simultaneously. Because of that, employees? performance can be improved by increased the competence and work discipline.ABSTRAKKinerja pegawai dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, diantaranya adalah kompetensi dan disiplin kerja. Artikel ini membahas hasil penelitian tentang pengaruh kompetensi dan disiplin kerja pada kinerja pegawai pada salah satu Dinas di Kabupaten Garut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey eksplanasi dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Ukuran populasi sebanyak 42 responden. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah pegawai sekretariat. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa kompetensi dan disiplin kerja memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap kinerja pegawai, baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Oleh karena itu, kinerja pegawai dapat ditingkatkan melalui peningkatan kompetensi dan disiplin kerja.
