<![CDATA[Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui deskripsi kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan saintifik; (2) mengetahui deskripsi kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan RME; dan (3) mengetahui Perbedaan pengaruh pendekatan saintifik dan pendekatan RME terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di SMP Kartika XX-6 Kendari yang terdiri dari 5 kelas paralel. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dilakukan secara random sampling. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan saintifik diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 57,24, median sebesar 60, dan modus sebesar 40. Standar deviasi sebesar 16,179, sedangkan varians sebesar 261,761. Nilai terendah sebesar 25 sedangkan nilai tertinggi sebesar 80; 2) kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan RME diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 58,06, median sebesar 60, dan modus sebesar 40. Standar deviasi sebesar 14,005, sedangkan varians sebesar 196,129. Nilai terendah sebesar 40 sedangkan nilai tertinggi sebesar 80; dan 3) rerata kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa setelah diajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dan pendekatan saintifik tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan baik yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi, sedang, maupun rendah.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, Pendekatan Saintifik, Pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Abstract: The aim of this research are to: (1) know the description of the mathematical connection ability of students taught with the scientific approach; (2) know the description of the mathematical connection ability of students taught with the RME approach; and (3) know the difference of influence of the scientific approach and the RME approach on the improvement of mathematical connection ability of students who have high, medium, and low learning motivation. The population in this study were all students of class VII in SMP Kartika XX-6 Kendari consisting of 5 parallel classes. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique. Determination of the experimental class of the control class was carried out by random sampling. The results obtained in this study are: 1) mathematical connection ability of students taught with the scientific approach obtained average value is 57.24, median is 60, and mode is 40. The standard deviation is 16,179, while the variance is 261,761. The minimum value is 25 while the maximum value is 80; 2) mathematical connection ability of students taught by the RME approach obtained average value is 58.06, median is 60, and mode is 40. The standard deviation is 14.005, while the variance is 196.129.
