The study is aims to determine the improvement of the Sundanese language writing skills by the development of PAKEM learning model. The method used in this research is a research and development. The locations of this research at Junior High School in Lebak. The procedure is carried out through three stages; (1) preliminary study, (2) trial, (3) testing the learning outcomes and the effectiveness of using the PAKEM model in improving student writing skills. From the results of the development of PAKEM learning model show that sundanese language subject can improve students ability in writing, it can be seen from the result of the t-test where the pretest and postest score have significant differences. The depelopment of the PAKEM model also increases students interests and activities in learning
