<![CDATA[ABSTRACTThis research aims to find to produce the feasible, effective, and efficient Map Box Props to improve the students? understanding of the concept and critical thinking. The type of this research is development by Dick and Carrey model. Viewed from the learning process has been done by utilizing Map Box Props, The result of pre-test and post-test are used to test the effectiveness through the T-Test on the understanding concepts 2,111 ? 2,021 and T-Test on the critical thinking ability 6,556 ? 2,021. It can be concluded that H0 is rejected so that there is a difference in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and control class. In conclusion, the use of Map Box Props in the process of learning to improve the students? understanding of the concept and critical thinking ability of class V in elementary school is feasible, practical, and effective to be used in social science, especially in historical materials of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini memiliki tujuan menghasilakan alat peraga Box Map yang layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengkonstrukan konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu pengembangan dengan model Dick and Carrey. Melalui keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga Box Map dapat disimpulkan bahwa alat Box Map berbasis metode Montessori praktis digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengkonstruksikan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD. Hasil uji pretest dan posttest digunakan untuk menguji keefektifan melalui Uji-T yaitu pada kemampuan mengkonstruksikan pemahaman konsep 2,111 ? 2,021 dan Uji-T pada kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu 6,556 ? 2,021 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak, dengan demikian tedapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.
