<![CDATA[Abstrak Untuk tetap exist suatu perusahaan harus memperhatikan kelancaran proses produksinya sehingga dapat terus berproduksi. Kelancaran prosesproduksi dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal seperti sumber daya manusia serta kondisi dari fasilitas produksi yang dimiliki, dalam hal ini mesin produksi dan peralatan pendukung lain. Untukmenjaga agar peralatan produksi dapat selalu berada pada kondisi yang baik maka diperlukan kegiatan perawatan yang bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan keandalan dari komponen-komponen peralatan maupun sistem tersebut. Sistem preventive maintenancepada sebuah sistem mesin pemindah bahan ini untuk mencari akar masalah pada scraper conveyor dan excavator hydraulic dan mencari solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Dalam proses penyusunan laporan tugas akhir mengenai penerapan sistem preventive maintenance di PT. Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk, penulis melakukan observasi lapangan, pengumpulan, penyusunan serta pengolahan data dengan langkahlangkah sistem matematis yang disusun dalam suatu metodologi penelitian. Penanganan masalah tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan dua cara, yaitu penanganan rekayasaengineering dan rekayasa material. Seiring perkembangan zaman, untuk mengetahui beban kerusakan, kita dapat menggunakan software ansys 5.4. Dari hasil perhitungan manual yang didapat penulis adalah sebagai berikut, beban yang terjadi pada satu rantai τ= 215,056 KPa. Hasil dari perhitungan ansys 5.4diperoleh τi =310352 KPa.
