PENINGKATAN KUALITAS WARNA BENIH IKAN SUMATERA BARB (PUNTIUS TETRAZONA) MELALUI PENGAYAAN TEPUNG WORTEL (DAUCUS CAROTA) DALAM PAKAN

Abstract

ABSTRACT     This study aimed to examine the increase in the color of Sumatra Barb fish by carrot flour in feed on the quality of the color of the Sumatra Barb fish and obtaining the best dose of carrot flour. This study used a completely randomized design method (CRD), consisting of 5 levels of treatment and 3 replications. The test feed in this study was in the form of commercial feed in the form of pellets with 30% protein content which was added to carrot flour according to the treatment, namely A (control / without addition of carrot flour), B (2.5% carrot flour), C (5% carrot flour), D (7.5% carrot flour) and E (10% carrot flour). The addition of carrot flour with different doses gave a significant effect on the increase in the quality of the color of the Barb Sumatra fish (Puntius tetrazona). Observation of color quality improvement was done once a week for 28 days using Toca Color Finder (TCF). The dose of 10% carrot flour is the highest dose to improve the quality of the color of the Barb Sumatra fish (Puntius tetrazona) with value 4,33.Keywords: Carrot flour, Sumatra fish Barb, brightness of color, Puntius tetrazonaABSTRAK     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peningkatan warna benih ikan Sumatra Barb dengan penambahan tepung wortel dalam pakan terhadap kualitas warna ikan Sumatra Barb serta mendapatkan dosis tepung wortel yang terbaik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Pakan uji dalan penelitian ini berupa pakan komersil yang berupa pelet dengan kandungan protein 30% yang ditambahkan tepung wortel sesuai perlakuan, yaitu A (kontrol/tanpa penambahan tepung wortel), B (2,5% tepung wortel), C (5% tepung wortel), D (7,5% tepung wortel) dan E (10% tepung wortel). Penambahan tepung wortel dengan dosis yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan kualitas warna benih ikan Sumatra Barb (Puntius tetrazona). Pengamatan peningkatan kualitas warna dilakukan seminggu sekali selama 28 hari menggunakan Toca Colour Finder (TCF). Dosis tepung wortel sebanyak 10% merupakan dosis tertinggi untuk meningkatkan kualitas warna benih ikan Sumatra Barb (Puntius tetrazona) dengan nilai 4,33.Kata Kunci: Tepung wortel, ikan Sumatra Barb, kecerahan warna, Puntius tetrazona
