<![CDATA[ABSTRACT Pool port is one of the basic facilities that must exist in each fishing port. The size of the pool port will have an effect on the number of ships that will be docked and it will have an effect to the activity of the ship in the pool port. Pool portin Sawang Ba'u fishing port, have been unable to accommodate all the ships docked in the pool, that could be seen from the number of ships that the difficulty in turning the vessel and landing of catches and their needed preparation. In addition to extensive the pool port activity, the depth of the pool port will also have an effect t toe activity of the ship in the pool. The purpose of this research is to know the needs of the size of the pool port and knowing the depth of the pool port in the port that is needed for Sawang Ba'u fishing port activities. Data were colleced as directly spaciousness, to see the maximum number of vessels which docked, extensive pool port (m2), the depth of the pond harbour (m), data width, length and depth of the largest ships (m), the maximum in the tidal ponds harbour (m), and squat or high transport ships sped (m). Results of the study concluded that the present harbor pond no longer able to accommodate all the ships were docked. Spacious Pool port current port of 7,500 m2 with the number of ships as many as 54 units, require an pool area of 40.926,665 m2. The average depth of the pond is currently reaching 2,21 m, and was safe for ships to dock at the port in the pool.Keywords; Needs breadth and depth of the pool. ABSTRAKKolam pelabuhan merupakan salah satu fasilitas dasar yang harus ada di setiap pelabuhan perikanan. Besar kecilnya kolam pelabuhan akan berpengaruh terhadap jumlah kapal yang akan berlabuh, serta akan berpengaruh terhadap kelancaran aktivitas kapal didalam kolam. Kolam PP Sawang Ba’u saat ini, sudah tidak mampu menampung semua kapal yang berlabuh didalam kolam pelabuhan yang ada. Hal ini terlihat banyaknya kapal yang kesulitan dalam memutar kapal dan pendaratan hasil tangkapan beserta persiapan kebutuhan melaut. Selain luas kolam yang mempengaruhi kelancaran aktivitas, kedalaman kolam juga akan berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas kapal didalam kolam. Tujuan penelian ini adalah untuk mengetahui besar kebutuhan kolam PP pelabuhan dan mengetahui kedalaman kolam pelabuhan yang dibutuhkan untuk kelancaran aktivitas di PP Sawang Ba’u. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara langsung kelapangan, untuk melihat jumlah kapal yang maksimum berlabuh, luas kolam pelabuhan (m2), kedalaman kolam pelabuhan (m), data lebar, panjang dan kedalaman kapal terbesar (m), pasang surut maksimum didalam kolam pelabuhan (m), dan squat atau tinggi angkutan kapal yang melaju (m). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa kolam pelabuhan yang ada sekarang tidak mampu lagi menampung semua kapal yang berlabuh. Luas kolam pelabuhan saat ini sebesar 7.500 m2 dengan jumlah kapal sebanyak 54 unit, membutuhkan luasan kolam sebesar 40.926,665 m2. Kedalaman kolam rata-rata saat ini mencapai 2,21 m, dan sudah aman bagi kapal-kapal untuk berlabuh di dalam kolam pelabuhan. Kata kunci: Kebutuhan luas dan kedalaman kolam. ]]>
