PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL INKUIRI DAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS SURAT SISWA SMP NEGERI 5 MUARO JAMBI

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kata kunci: model inkuiri, motivasi belajar, kemampuan menulis surat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan mendeskripsikan: (1) pengaruh penerapan model inkuiri terhadap kemampuan menulis surat siswa SMP kelas VII, (2) pengaruh penerapan model inkuiri terhadap kemampuan menulis surat pada siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi, (3) pengaruh penerapan model inkuiri terhadap kemampuan menulis surat pada siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah, (4) pengaruh tingkat motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis surat siswa, dan (5) interaksi antara model inkuiri dan motivasi belajar dengan kemampuan menulis surat. Subjek Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 5 Muaro Jambi dengan penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik Purpose Sampling. Teknik sampling ini digunakan karena ada pertimbangan tertentu sehingga terpilihlah dua kelas sebagai sampel penelitian. Satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas VII C dan satu kelas sebagai kelas kontrol yaitu kelas VII D. Dalam menguji hipotesis peneliti menggunakan uji t untuk hipotesis 1,2,3 dan 4 sedangkan hipotesis 5 menggunakan anava dua jalur. Pengujian hipotesis dalam pelaksanaannya peneliti menggunakan software SPSS 22. Pengujian hipotesis 1 menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa dengan hasil uji hipotesis nilai t hitung = 5,820 > t tabel = 2,008 sehingga hipotesis nol (Ho) ditolak dan Hipotesis Alternatif (Ha) diterima. Uji hipotesis 2 menunjukan penerapan model inkuiri bepengaruh signifikan hal ini di tunjukan dengan nilai thitung = 4,440 > ttabel = 2,063 . uji hipotesis 3 menunjukan pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan model inkuiri terhadap siswa bermotivasi rendah ditunjukan dengan nilai thitung = 4,233 > ttabel 2,069. Uji hipotesis 4 menunjukan bahawa ada pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis surat dengan diperoleh nilai t hitung = 10,740 dan 10,514 > t tabel 2,013. Terakhir uji hipotesis 5 menunjukan adanya interaksi antara model inkuiri dan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis surat siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang telah dilakukan maka disimpulkan sebagai berikut: pada hipotesis 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5 yang diajukan pada taraf signifikansi 0,05, hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian peneliti menyarankan sekolah dan pihak guru pada khususnya, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model Inkuiri memiliki pengaruh yang lebih baik terhadap kemampuan menulis surat siswa sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan dalam kelas. The purpose of this research is to test and describe (1) the influence of the application of inquiry model to the ability of writing letter of junior high school students of class VII, (2) the influence of application of inquiry model to the ability of writing letter to students who have high learning motivation, (3) On the ability to write letters to students who have low learning motivation, (4) the influence of learning motivation level on students' writing ability, and (5) interaction between inquiry model and learning motivation with letter writing ability. This type of research is a type of quasi experimental research or quasi experiments is a research method that aims to examine the causal relationship between variables. In this research there are three variables, two independent variables are inquiry model and learning motivation and one dependent variable is the ability to write a letter. The design of this research is pretest posttest control group only design. The subject of this research is the students of class VII of Junior High School 5 Muaro Jambi with the determination of research sample using Purpose Sampling technique. This sampling technique is used because there are certain considerations so that two classes are selected as research samples. One class as experiment class is class VII C and one class as control class that is class VII D. In testing hypothesis researcher use t test for hypothesis 1,2,3 and 4 whereas hypothesis 5 use two path anava. Hypothesis testing in the implementation of researchers using SPSS 22 software. Testing of hypothesis 1 shows that there is significant influence of inquiry learning model on student writing ability with hypothesis test result t value = 5,820> t table = 2,008 so that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Hypothesis 2 test shows the application of inquiry model significantly influence this matter in the show with tcount = 4,440> t table = 2,063. Test of hypothesis 3 shows the influence of the significant application of inquiry model to low motivated students is shown with t count = 4,233> t table 2,069. Hypothesis 4 test shows that there is a significant influence of learning motivation on the ability to write letters obtained t value = 10,740 and 10,514> t table 2.013. The last test of hypothesis 5 shows the interaction between the inquiry model and the motivation to learn the ability to write student letters. Based on the result of data analysis that has been done then concluded as follows: on hypothesis 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 proposed at 0.05 significance level, alternative hypothesis (Ha) accepted and null hypothesis (Ho) rejected. Based on the results of the research suggests the school and the teachers in particular, this study proves that the application of inquiry model has a better influence on the ability to write student letters so it can serve as an alternative learning that can be applied in the classroom.
