PENERAPAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) PADA TEMA INDAHNYA KERAGAMAN DI NEGERIKU SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN IPS SISWA KELAS IV SD

Abstract

This study aims to see the improvement of knowledge and skills of Social Sciences in fourth grade students at Warakas 07 Elementary School North Jakarta through a scientific approach to problem based learning (PBL) models. The research method used is the Action Research method of Kemmis& Taggart using a spiral system that starts with planning, acting, observing, reflecting. This research was carried out in 2 cycles with 5 actions in each cycle. Action research is carried out in class IV with 30 students. The research instrument used was observation of teacher and student activities, field notes, documentation, interviews, and tests. The results of this study indicate that students' knowledge test results have increased. In the pre-cycle stage the number of students who completed the score above the KKM was 54.3%, the first cycle increased to 70%, and the second cycle increased to 86%. The skills test results of students in the first cycle got an average percentage of 74% and in cycle II it increased to 83.7%. Besides that, student activity also experienced an increase with a percentage of 75.48% in the first cycle, and obtained a percentage of 94% in the second cycle. Thus it can be concluded that the scientific approach to problem based learning (PBL) models can improve the knowledge and skills of fourth grade elementary school students. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial siswa kelas IV di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Warakas 07 Jakarta Utara melalui pendekatan saintifik model problem based learning (PBL). Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode penelitian tindakan (Action Research) dari Kemmis & Taggart dengan menggunakan sistem spiral yang dimulai dengan tahapan rencana (planning), tindakan (acting), pengamatan (observing), refleksi (reflecting). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus dengan 5 tindakan pada setiap siklusnya. Penelitian tindakan dilakukan pada kelas IV dengan jumlah peserta didik 30 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, catatan lapangan, dokumentasi, wawancara, dan tes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa hasil tes pengetahuan siswa mengalami peningkatan. Pada tahap prasiklus jumlah siswa yang tuntas mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM sebesar 54,3%, siklus I meningkat menjadi 70%, dan siklus II kembali meningkat menjadi 86%.Hasil tes keterampilan siswa pada siklus I mendapatkan rata-rata persentase sebesar 74% dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 83,7%. Selain itu aktivitas siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan perolehan persentase 75,48% pada siklus I, dan memperoleh persentase sebesar 94% pada siklus II. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik model problem based learning (PBL) dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keteampilan siswa kelas IV SD.
