KARAKTERISTIK SEBARAN SEDIMEN DASAR DI PERAIRAN KALIANGET KABUPATEN SUMENEP

Abstract

ABSTRAKPerairan Kalianget merupakan daerah ujung timur dari Pulau Madura dengan kondisi pesisir telah mengalami banyak perubahan. Aktifitas masyarakat dan proses hidrooseanografi dapat mempengaruhi karakteristik lapisan dan pola sebaran sedimen dasar di perairan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui karakteristik lapisan sedimen dasar dan pola sebaran sedimen yang dihubungkan dengan pola pergerakan arus. Penentuan lokasi dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling. Data primer berupa sampel sedimen dasar yang tersebar di 11 titik dan data sekunder berupa arus. Metode analisa ukuran butir sedimen menggunakan metode pengayakan dan pemipetan. Analisa sedimen menggunakan segitiga Shepard dan Sieve Graph. Pengolahan data menggunakan Surfer 11.0, ArcMap 10.3 dan SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik sedimen terdiri dari mean size berupa pasir kasar, pasir sedang, pasir halus dan lumpur sedang, sortasi berupa pemilahan sangat baik, dan cukup baik, skewness berupa kemiringan sangat halus dan kurtosis berupa keruncingan sangat tumpul.Kata Kunci: Karakteristik Sedimen, Sebaran Sedimen, Perairan KaliangetABSTRACTKalianget waters is an area at the eastern end of Madura Island with coastal conditions that have undergone many changes. Community activities and hydrooceanographic processes can affect the characteristics of layers and distribution patterns of bottom sediments in these waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of the bottom sediment layer and the pattern of sediment distribution associated with the pattern of current movement. Determination of the location is done by purposive sampling method. Primary data in the form of basic sediment samples spread over 11 points and secondary data in the form of currents. Sediment grain size analysis method uses sieving and pipetting methods. Sediment analysis using Shepard's triangle and Sieve Graph. Data processing used Surfer 11.0, ArcMap 10.3 and SPSS 16. The results showed that the sediment characteristics consisted of mean size in the form of coarse sand, medium sand, fine sand and medium mud, sorting in the form of very good sorting, and quite good, skewness in the form of very fine slope and kurtosis in the form of a very blunt tapering.
