Abstract

A research about “Reproductive Status of Hampala Fish (Hampala macrolepidota  C.V. 1823) in Soedirman Resevoir, Banjarnegara, Central Java” had been done. This study aimed to investigate reproductive status of Hampala fish concerning sex ratio, gonado-somatic index, fecundity, egg diameter and habitat characteristics or water quality. The study was conducted during June-July 2013 using throwing and gill nets. Nine stations were pointed to catch 49 individuals. Male fishwere caughtat five stations, while femalesintwostations. Male fishwere 46individuals, and3 others were females. Sex ratio was unbalanced since male:female ratio was 94:6%. Male fish were immatures measuring 12-30.7 cm in length and weighing 17-359 g. Female fish were matures measuring 40 cm in length and weighing 917 g. Fecunditywas verylow ranging 1.040-2.517 eggs. Hampala was included in partial spawner. WaterqualityinSoedirman reservoirwas stillsuitablefor aquaticorganisms. Keywords: reproductive, hampalafish, soedirman resevoir.
