Abstract

Pregnancy is a period that really determines the quality of human resources and the future because the child's growth and development are very determined by the condition of the fetus in the womb. One of the factors that influence maternal health is the nutritional condition of the mother during pregnancy. Anemia in pregnancy is a national problem because it reflects the value of the socio-economic well-being of the community and has a profound effect on the quality of human resources. The purpose of this study was to: (1) assess the effect of iron intake on anemia in pregnant women in Pangkep Regency; (2) assessing the effect of folic acid intake on anemia in pregnant women in Pangkep Regency; (3) assess the effect of Distance of Pregnancy on anemia in Pregnant Women in Pangkep Regency. The type of research used is quantitative with an observational analytic approach with a cross-sectional research design that is to find out the variables that are suspected to influence at the same time, namely the influence between nutrient intake and pregnancy spacing on anemia in pregnant women. The population in the study was 280 pregnant women and 112 samples based on the Harry King Nomogram sampling table with a level of error of 5% with a sampling technique that is an accidental sampling. The analysis used was univariate analysis, bivariate with the chi-square test, multivariate analysis with multiple regression test. The results of this study indicate that: (1) There is a significant influence between iron intake on anemia in pregnant women in Pangkep, the results obtained are p = 0.001; (2) There is a significant effect between folic acid intake on anemia in pregnant women in Pangkep Regency, the results are p = 0,000; (3) There is a significant influence between the distance of pregnancy to anemia in pregnant women in Pangkep District, the results are p = 0.039. Based on multivariate analysis, it is known that the folic acid intake variable most dominantly influences anemia in pregnant women with a p-value = 0,000. Therefore, pregnant women need to increase knowledge about the importance of nutrition intake and pregnancy spacing and it is hoped that the active role of the family and health workers for prevention of anemia in pregnant women.
