<![CDATA[AbstractThe presence of social media is very beneficial for the community. However, on the other hand there are also many people who complain about the presence of this mass media. Many people complainabout their presence because the contents contain a lot of hoaxes, violence and pornography. The Ministry of Communication and Information said that there were 800 thousand sites in Indonesia that spread the bad information. Hoaxes and Pornography can reach the public through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Whatsapp, and Line. Keywords : media literacy, gadgets, a resident of bukit duri village AbstrakKehadiran media sosial sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat. Namun, di sisi lain banyak juga kalangan masyarakat yang mengeluhkan kehadiran media massa ini. Kehadirannya banyak dikeluhkan masyarakat karena isinya banyak mengandung hoax, kekerasan dan pornografi. Kementrian komunikasi dan informatika menyebutkan, ada 800 ribu situs di Indonesia yang menyebarkan informasi buruk itu.
