Pelatihan Pengembangan dan Penerapan Media Big Book untuk Pembelajaran Membaca yang MEA (Menyenangkan dan Aktif) bagi Guru-Guru SDN 30 Kendari

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berupa pelatihan pembuatan dan penerapan media big book ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan guru dalam mengembangkan dan menerapkan media big book dalam pembelajaran membaca yang menyenangkan dan mengaktifkan siswa, bagi guru-guru SDN 30 Kendari disajikan secara kualitatif. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan terdiri dari tiga tahap. Pertama, tahap persiapan meliputi survei dan mempersiapkan segala sesuatu yang terkait dengan pelatihan. Kedua, tahap pelaksanaan program berupa pelatihan dan workshop. Pelatihan dan workshop ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, demontrasi, tanya jawab, unjuk kerja (praktik), simulasi dan diskusi. Ketersediaan tenaga ahli yang memadai dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran big book, antusiasme peserta, dukungan kepala sekolah terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 14 Agustus 2021 dan diikuti oleh tujuh belas orang guru. Hasil kegiatan PKM secara garis besar mencakup beberapa komponen sebagai berikut: (1) keberhasilan target jumlah peserta pelatihan; (2) ketercapaian tujuan pelatihan; (3) ketercapaian target materi yang telah direncanakan; dan (4) kemampuan peserta dalam penguasaan materi. Target peserta pelatihan seperti direncanakan sebelumnya adalah paling tidak 17 orang, sesuai dengan jumlah guru yang mengajar di kelas rendah. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 17 orang peserta. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa target peserta tercapai 100%. Angka tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan PKM dilihat dari jumlah peserta yang mengikuti dapat dikatakan berhasil/sukses. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini yaitu program pelatihan pendampingan dan penerapan media big book dalam pembelajaran membaca yang Mea dapat diselenggarakan dengan baik dan berjalan dengan lancar sesuai dengan rencana kegiatan yang telah disusun meskipun belum semua peserta pendampingan menguasai dengan baik materi yang disampaikan. Kegiatan ini mendapat sambutan sangat baik terbukti dengan keaktifan peserta mengikuti pendampingan dengan tidak meninggalkan tempat sebelum waktu pelatihan berakhir. This community service activity in the form of training in the manufacture and application of big book media is carried out to improve the abilities and skills of teachers in developing and applying big book media in learning to read that is fun and activates students, for teachers at SDN 30 Kendari it is presented qualitatively. The method of implementing the activity consists of three stages. First, the preparation phase includes surveys and preparing everything related to training. Second, the program implementation phase is in the form of training and workshops. This training and workshop are conducted using lecture, demonstration, question and answer methods, performance (practice), simulation and discussion. Availability of adequate experts in the development of big book learning media, participants' enthusiasm, and school principals' support for the implementation of activities. This activity was held on August 14, 2021, and was attended by seventeen teachers. The results of community service activities generally include the following components: (1) the success of the target number of training participants; (2) achievement of training objectives; (3) the achievement of the material targets that have been planned; and (4) the ability of participants in mastering the material. According to the number of teachers who teach in lower grades, the target of training participants as previously planned is at least 17 people. In its implementation, this activity was attended by 17 participants. Thus it can be said that the participants' target was achieved 100%. This figure shows that community service activities seen from the number of participants who follow can be successful. This activity concludes that the mentoring training program and the application of big book media in learning to read can be carried out properly and run smoothly according to the activity plan that has been prepared, although not all of the mentoring participants have mastered the material presented well. This activity received a very good response, as evidenced by the active participation of participants in the mentoring by not leaving the place before the end of the training.
