Abstract

Comparison Of Total Flavonoid Content Of Purple Leaves Extract (Graptophyllum pictum l. Griff) By Different Drying MethodsPurple leaf (Graptophyllum pictum L. Griff) is a plants used in traditional medicine. The pharmacological activity of purple leaves is caused by the presence of chemical compounds it has. One of the important compounds contained in purple leaves is flavonoids. The aimed of this study was to determine the ratio of total flavonoid content of purple leaf ethanol extract based on different drying methods. The extraction method used is the maceration method. The flavonoid test was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer instrument. This study shows the total flavonoid content of purple leaves  that were dried by aerating (28.68 mg) was greater than that of the oven (24.30 mg). However, there was no significant difference between the two drying methods (p >0.05).Keywords : Graptophyllum pictum ,Total Flavonoid, Drying MethodsDaun ungu (Graptophyllum pictum L. Griff) adalah tanaman yang digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional. Aktivitas farmakologi daun ungu disebabkan oleh adanya senyawa kimia yang dimilikinya. Salah satu senyawa penting yang terkandung dalam daun ungu adalah flavonoid. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbandingan kadar flavonoid total ekstrak etanol daun ungu berdasarkan perbedaan metode pengeringan. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi. Pengujian flavonoid dilakukan secara kualitatit dan kuantitatif dengan instrumen spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Penelitian ini menunjukkan kadar flavonoid total daun ungu yang dikeringkan dengan cara diangin-anginkan (28,68 mg) lebih besar dibandingkan dengan oven (24,30 mg). Namun tidak ditemukan perbedaan yang signifikan diantara kedua metode pengeringan tersebut (p >0.05)Kata kunci : Graptophyllum pictum, Flavonoid Total, Metode Pengeringan
