<![CDATA[Technological developments in the growing industrial machine encourage industrial companies spend significant investment in order to adopt the technology to produce a quality product. In the industrial machine management operations management integrated with a variety of factors, including the cost of maintenance. Maintenance that will either keep the consistency of production so that the company can maintain production capacity. PT. X as a manufacturer of materials for industrial use today is preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance. While the company is still facing towards the maintenance of the machine, it can be seen from the data operations engine unit 258 during the year 2008, there were an average of 6 units damaged machine per month. In this study, the research method used is descriptive analysis using quantitative analysis, using descriptive analysis, regression analysis and correlation analysis. Test equipment used is the F test to test the direction of the regression coefficient of determination. The results showed that the role of engine maintenance to quality production at PT. X was not significant, as indicated by a correlation coefficient of 0.2131 and based on regression equation Y = 0.9765 + 9E - 10 ( X ). In addition to the value of the correlation coefficient r = 0.2131 actual show showed no positive role between the cost of maintenance of the quality of the product, but it is very small, because only reaches r2 = 0.0454 or just 4.54 % The results show that the value of F = 0.4758 is not significant enough to reject Ho, meaning no maintenance costs contribute significantly to the quality. Thus the research hypothesis in the case of the production of the 2008 data sample could not be proven means that there are other factors that have a positive role to the quality of production in addition to the cost of maintenance of production machinery Keywords: Maintenance Cost, Preventive Maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance, Production Quality  Abstrak Perkembangan teknologi pada mesin industri yang semakin meningkat mendorong perusahaan industri mengeluarkan biaya investasi yang tidak sedikit agar dapat mengadopsi teknologi tersebut untuk menghasilkan produk yang berkualitas. Dalam manajemen operasi pengelolaan mesin industri terintegrasi dengan berbagai faktor, diantaranya biaya pemeliharaan (maintenance cost). Pemeliharaan (maintenance) yang baik akan menjaga konsistensi produksi sehingga perusahaan dapat menjaga kapasitas produksi sesuai target. PT. X sebagai produsen bahan untuk keperluan industri saat ini adalah preventive maintenance dan breakdown maintenance. Sementara ini perusahaan masih menghadapi terhadap pemeliharaan mesin, hal ini terlihat dari data 258 unit mesin dioprasikan selama tahun 2008 terdapat rata-rata 6 unit mesin yang rusak per bulan.   Dalam penelitian ini metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitis dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif, menggunakan analisis deskriptif, teknik analisis regresi dan analisis korelasi. Alat uji yang digunakan adalah uji F untuk menguji koefisien arah regresi determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peranan biaya pemeliharaan mesin terhadap kualitas produksi pada PT. X ternyata tidak signifikan, ditunjukkan dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,2131 dan berdarakan persamaan regresi Y = 0,9765 + 9E-10 (X). Selain itu dengan nilai koefisien korelasi menunjukkan r = 0,2131 sebenarnya menunjukkan ada peran positif antara biaya pemeliharaan terhadap kualitas produk, tetapi sangat kecil, karena hanya mencapai r2 = 0,0454 atau hanya 4,54% Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa nilai F = 0,4758 tidak cukup signifikan untuk menolak Ho, artinya biaya pemeliharaan tidak berperan secara signifikan terhadap kualitas.
