This study discusses the meaning of hijab in terms of modeling that occurs in the Hijab Style Community Jakarta. The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the meaning of the hijab used by Hsc Jakarta members. The benefits of this research are as material for the phenomenological study of the meaning of hijab for members of the Hijab Style Community Jakarta. This study uses Alfred Shutz's phenomenological theory regarding the cause motive and the purpose motive (in order to motive). The method in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Researchers used data collection by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. These results show, the phenomenon that the meaning of hijab in each member has a difference. Informants provide an overview of their views on the meaning of hijab. In interpreting the hijab, the six informants argued that the cause motive (because motive) was shown as a motive for religious obedience, environmental demands motif, and fashionable motive, while the goal motive (in order to motive) was shown as a motive as a learning process
