Sintesis Kitosan dari Cangkang Kepiting Dengan Metode Pemanasan Microwave Selama 2 Menit

Abstract

Kitosan disintesis melalui reaksi deasetilasi kitin dengan larutan NaOH dengan iradiasi gelombang mikro. Hal tersebut menggambarkan proses sebuah prosedur sintesis cepat dibandingkan untuk metode konvensional. Kitosan telah dikarakterisasi dengan instrumen FTIR (Fourier transform infrared). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa derajat deasetilasi yang diperoleh adalah 76,5% tercapai setelah penyinaran kitin dengan larutan NaOH 45% dalam microwave selama 2 menit dengan daya 900 watt. Metode ini memberikan hasil proses cepat, bersih dan mudah.
