PENGGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR

Abstract

This was classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted in three cycles. The data collecting techniques used were observation and test. The subject was the students of General Geology course in odd semester academic year of 2011/2012. The results of the research showed an improvement in the students learning activities and learning achievement in General Geography course. This could be proved by the improvement of students learning activities that there were 33 students (75%) who were active in learning, there were 31 students (70%) who achieved learning completeness with the average score of 71. Thus the use of the cooperative learning model of STAD type could improve students learning activities and learning achievement in General Geography course of the students in geography education department social study program at Lampung University in academic year of 2011/2012.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam tiga siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah Geologi Umum di semester ganjil tahun akademik 2011/2012. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dan prestasi belajar di mata kuliah Geografi. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan peningkatan kegiatan belajar siswa bahwa ada 33 siswa (75%) yang aktif dalam pembelajaran, ada 31 siswa (70%) yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar dengan nilai rata-rata 71. Dengan demikian penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa dan prestasi belajar di mata kuliah Geografi pada program studi Pendidikan Geografi Jurusan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial di Universitas Lampung tahun akademik 2011/2012.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, model tipe STAD.
